Spoke to a former player and a scout who were impressed and said the upgrades were long overdue and with Monte at the helm we were in good shape.

YES! the first thing you'll notice is the green area

just behind left field to your right when you enter through the left field gate. tons room for kids, i think they took out some trees and landscaping and made more green grass. also not a bad place to watch a game when we have overflow attendance, not sure if the fire marshals agree but we can pack a ton more people into BTF now.
the building looks phenomenal, provides some extra shade for the seats behind first base and there are a couple of counter/bars that you can sit at and watch the game.
you can now walk around the entire stadium which is cool if you never have been back around that area. there is also some standing room around the tiger bullpen which would be cool to watch the game but there are signs to keep walking/no standing there. would love to see that change.
with all the changes there is just a better atmosphere there. the product on the field looked the same as in past few years but it just felt different. i love leggett but there was no question we needed some new blood. i felt like we hit the reset button and good things are ahead.
it looks impressive. i hope that monte can keep the boys fresh and surprise some people.

I think JDew is OK

I could take or leave him, but he's not bad at his job and all he's doing is running the promotions he's asked to run. Clemson has been doing the same type of promotions for years, but the in-game hosts have just been different.

DONT BLAME IT ON JDEW AT ALL. HE IS JUST DOING HIS JOB. THAT JOB IS WHAT I DONT LIKE. WHAT DOES IT BRING TO THE TABLE. KID OF LIKED WATCHING THE RALLY CATS OR THE CHEERLEADERS AT BBALL GAMES INSTEAD OF LISTENING TO THE VERY LOUD STUFF THEY DO NOW. BOUT ALL BASEBALL NEEDS IS THE CANDY TOSS, THE CUB AND TIGER MAKING THE ROUNDS WITH THE KIDS AND GOOD MUSIC BETWEEN INNINGS.

And Danny Cannon. Can't have Clemson baseball without Danny.

When the sun went down behind the new building,

it got cold.
That will be a positive, though, in the later games in the season.

Yeah that's a worthy trade-off if you ask me. I'd rather deal with the cold now and get late evening shade in May.

we were all bundled up to stay warm. This time it was a light jacket and gloves in the late innings.

I sat in the left field area, and was 2 rows behind the '74 grad that JDew awarded a prize to for it being his FIRST baseball game. I thought JDew did an appropriate job, all things being considered.
The entire place looked great IMO, but I've lived so far away for so many years that I never got to attend games prior to retiring. I think it was my second baseball game. Sad - huh? But life is better now that I live back in SC. I look forward to seeing a lot more.
We're gonna be fine - and they don't need to change anything. Of course the wife looked bewildered when "Take me out to the ballgame" was sung. I just laughed and told her it's just part of our tradition.

Danny Cannon is definitely tradition!

During the first few games I attended back in the 90s, I remember Danny sitting in the first-base stand and yelling "CHARGE!" and pointing two fingers up.
Have enjoyed seeing him graduate to tradition status. My Mom used to bring him sleeves of Oreos until he told her his doctor said he couldn't have them anymore.
Also, I remember during the Mississippi State Super-Regional series, he gave up his mic to allow a kid from MSU to sing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame".
To me, Danny and Charlie are two of the best when it comes to Tiger Baseball fans.

Yep,
He used to be on the cleanup crew after baseball games as well, but I think he's given up that duty since he collapsed after a game about 4 years ago.
