Yes, it's fact. I don't believe he is a thug(we know what youre really trying to say)and yes, she was arrested 2 years later and was forbidden from seeing her children. She also lost lawsuits. Deion overall has a good reputation. Nonhebhasnt been perfect, but overall good. I support the guy. I like his team speeches and lessons on life he gives his players. Check them out.

I agree. His mentality is everything that’s wrong with the sport now. Solely focused on NIL and the transfer portal, kicking kids out who worked their tails off and had no say in the matter. Putting the emphasis on everything BUT education. I hope he fails miserably and they take the Texas A&M route of last year

Are still getting college educations. I don’t understand why people want him to fail. His success does not impact Clemson at all. The sport and the portal and all of those things would be the same if Deon was coaching or not so to say he’s ruining the sport is crazy he’s just using the rules to his advantage. I guarantee if Clemson had done nothing for the last decade and went 1-11 last year everyone on this site would be going crazy to have Deon named head coach and do what he has done at Colorado.

I was a freshman in the stands during the legendary Puntrooskie game, and I never liked him after that. However, after seeing their YouTube videos, I must say that I enjoy the way he is attempting to execute it in an old-school manner. I despise the way he did it, so I'm torn.

To be fair, you do have to consider the situation he inherited. CO is one of the worst teams in college football. If you want to try and make an immediate impact, you have to pretty much gut the majority of the team. And, because of their recent history, you can't get top recruits out of HS to want to come to your program. That leaves you with the portal as your only real avenue.
He could not use it, and wait 10 years to become relevant again or, he could start the rebuild now with portal players and hope they do well enough so that you can begin to have some success with HS recruits again.
I mean, is this really that much different than what we seem to have needed to do in basketball the last few years?

Prime was one the greats my generation grew up watching and will always be one of my favorite athletes … so I would love to see him with long term success, but having said that I’m kind of tired of all the air time he gets over the games greats when he hasn’t done anything yet so I’d like to see them get grounded this year or atleast today, but wanna see him succeed long term

Me. I've disliked him since he stepped on the big stage at FSU and the neon Deon name was born. Showboat. So much so I called him the fluorescent adolescent instead. This was mostly because we had a corner ( Donnell Woolford ) that was a shutdowns corner that I wanted to win the Jim Thorpe award and went on to have a stellar pro-bowl career with the Chicago Bears.

The likes of that bum coaching at Clemson. The way he coaches is everything that is wrong with collegiate athletics. He has no loyalty, dedication, or integrity whenever it comes to the student athlete under his leadership. I suppose we are spoiled at Clemson where the focus is first on culture and that culture prides itself upon the development of student athletes beyond sports. Whenever a high school athlete chooses a school, it’s a life changing event and Coach Sanders should acknowledge and build upon that. Instead, he’s a win at all cost regardless of who it negatively impacts, and that’s a shame.
My favorite play from him came against the Carolina Panthers whenever Lamar Lathan and Kevin Greene both laid a hit on him simultaneously and it ended his professional career.

Just using the current rules. Most people think scholarships are for four years. Scholarships are just one year. With the portal, it is much easier to tell players to hit road and bring in some new players. You may not like it, but he's not doing anything that's against the rules. How long can Prime operate a revolving door for his program? Who knows. That was a very entertaining football game. Deion's son was impressive. I hope succeeds to upset all of the "experts".

I still have my doubts. This game makes me think he’ll do batter than 3 wins per year but I think 7 wins is his ceiling.

I agree with Pigeye’s post. Deion’s postgame interview sums it up! Not a fan of D. Sanders but will give him credit for the upset win today.

I was cheering for Colorado during the game. His schtick after the game was a little annoying though. He's acting like his players we all small time 2 and 3 stars at an HBCU that somehow surprised TCU, a Power 5 team. They're not. His son was a 4 star recruit and that Travis kid was like the number 1 or 2 HS player in the country in 2021. Still a great win. No need to pile on the BS after the fact.
Imagine being a TCU fan right now. Getting brutalized by GA in the Nat. Champ. game and the VERY next game of the new season, getting beat on national TV by a team that many felt would win maybe 6 games this year. TCU is crashing and burning in real time now. Yikes.
P.S. We should use the portal too.

Nope. I want him to take them to tbe playoff ior at least NY6. He has done nothing but utilize the system to its fullest. He could actually be the person that gets change. He has said that he is just using the system. He knows and I think down deep he knows tbe system is broken. I hope he wins it all! Maybe we could start using the system then??? Or maybe we are just to "ethically clean" to want it bad enough??

I think it's great. They don't have a great D, but their offense was spectacular.
They could start 3-0.
They have Nebraska at home, then Baylor who just lost to Texas St.
