Are SC players that much more talented than ours?

If you look at recruiting there isn't much of a gap b/w us and the coots. You could even say we do a better job recruiting. However, they take "2-star" talent and are making them look like all-stars. Take for instance Dylan Thompson, 2-star that wasn't highly sought out yet looks like a complete stud against our 4-star athletes. We are either completely off on evaluating recruits or we are absolutely terrible at player development...
Personally I feel like we are doing a great job at picking up some athletes but are suffering on the OL and DL. Also, compared to other teams most our DBs look scrawny.

yes, they have much better talent. why? better position coaches to train them up and they actually evaluate players instead of going by the star system. the tigers run a cherry picker offense and a smoke screen defense. the ##### dont hide anything defensively... they just bring the pain.

Something's definitely off. Our 2-3 star guys don't mature into great players as often as theirs do. Strangely enough, they've had some problems with some of their 4 and 5 star guys like OJ Murdock, that WR/DB from NC that was a 5 star a couple of years ago and several others who never panned out. Seems like their low rated players usually develop pretty well and eventually go onto play with a real confidence and attitude.

for sure. They wanted more last night no doubt. They have headhunters on D, like we used to have. I don't see it changing anytime soon, but I dang sure hope it does

They didn't have to be that good on offense to be better than our defense.
They had Clowney on Defense which was able to keep pressure on Boyd, from both ends enough to disrupt the game.
So, They control the clock for 2/3 of the game, tire our already marginal defense, and our offense is not on the field long enough to get into their rhythm.
It all boiled down, ultimately to our defense not stopping them on 3rd down. Missed opportunities.
In a word "yes" they are better than we are. However, if we had Clowney, I bet we would have won the game.

No they have more ruff neck on their team than we do. Clemson nation turn down kids with character flaws and they are accepted in the So Everyone Cheats conference. We need to get some of these win at all cost players at Clemson.

Clemson isn't physical up front on both sides of the ball and until the start becoming physical they'll lose to USC. Recruiting all the 4-star receivers is cute and you can put up big numbers against ACC competition, but facing a team like USC with a dominant d-line Boyd can't do anything. He got harassed and punished last night and was exposed for the below average player he really is.

Their two DEs made the difference in the game. Clemson isn't as far off as it looked.
