Putnam - the next Mitch Hyatt????

This all reminds me of when we signed Mitch Hyatt. I sure hope Putnam can come in and play as a true freshman and thereafter like Mitch has!!!

Are all returning next year. It'll be a good year for Putnam to get some reps in and prepare for 2020.

Putnam is polished, he's got a great build I wouldn't be surprised for him to blossom next year immediately.

Most athletic O-line prospect we've signed in recent memory and what he does for this team in the future can't be overstated. He'll put on weight pretty easily after he stops having to cut weight for wrestling - and it looks like he can add 20 lbs and be just as athletic.
Still doubt he's a starter next year. Mitch wouldn't have even been a starter his freshman year had Isaiah Battle not gone AWOL.
It's not like we have scrubs on the oline next year either - Simpson, Bockhorst, and Gage are all pretty dang competent on the interior.
It's much easier for a WR to start as a Freshman than an OL.

Wow, I wasn't aware that we had all of these guys coming back next season. We need to get all the new players in the weight room with uncle Joey, turn them into beasts.

Hopefully Vinson, Dehond, and Jordan Mcfaggn step up too. Dabo loves Mcfadden. Basically said he is the real deal and we hit a homerun.

He will. Early signing is critical and very anxious to see him in the Spring game.
Carman at LT, Bockhorst at LG, Rayburn at Center, Putnam at RG, McFadden at RT...That's a line TLaw can absolutely win with.

And we are going to have have some stud backs to run behind that line. Load the LOS?? Okay, then face Trevor Lawrence's cannon arm and the world-class receivers we have to go with it.

Its not all about the Height and Weight in this position- its also the arm length and quickness of feet. There is a finesse to this position most people fail to see.

He's enrolling early. After 8+ months of training table and conditioning, I doubt it. He will play.

Not having to cut weight for wrestling will help here too. But I agree, he just needs to be ready to roll by 2020.

If he's enrolling early, then I suspect he will play depending on what he does in spring camp.I remember when William Perry as a freshman terrorized Nebraska in our championship game against them.

Jan. 6. I still can't see him starting over Simpson, Bockhorst, Gage, or Pollard on the inside next year. Hopefully they give him reps over Stewart, but we shall see.
This doesn't diminish how huge of a pickup this is. We lose Simpson, Gage, and Anchrum after next season. He needs to be ready to go by 2020.
