baseball disappointment

Mar 1, 2013, 11:48 PM

I have been a huge baseball fan for all my life. Love it almost as much as football. Played ball in High School, had college offers but turned them down to pursue other goals (which I'm glad I did). I have tried to support this team and Jack as long as possible. Graduated in 02 the year of Khallil. It kills me to watch USC kick our @#$ like they have over the past few years. Yes I give them credit. They are an elite program. Congrats to them. But after reading the plenty to talk about segment and seeing pictures of just how bad our behind the scene facilities are in baseball it makes me sick. Clemson University should be baseball paradise for the typical baseball high school athlete. Hell tonight our sound system sounds like my stereo system I had in my Ford Bronco II (these cars were the jam) back in High school. Our scoreboard had more lines in it than a California strip club( and thats an upgrade). I love our baseball stadium (the shell) but man we can improve some things. Quit with the dang querky infield grass lines and sloping outfield. Put in a BIG BOY playing field with flat grounds and warning tracks all the way around like ALL minor and major league ball parks. I know that is in the works. Just venting here. Our players get their ankles taped out in the hallways. UNC and USC's players get taped in rooms with hot tubs and plasma tvs. How the hell did we let things get this bad. Not counting USC, we are fourth to fifth best facility wise in the ACC. Hell UVA was one year away from dropping baseball and now I don't think we've beaten them in five years. That is unacceptable. UNC, UVA, NCState, FSU, USC all make our baseball program look bad. The changes can't happen soon enough. And concerning Jack, all I hear is negativity. All these players that are Clemson related going to other programs is concerning. Where there is smoke there is fire I'm afraid. Lecroy is finally turning the page, but why should he have to. Shouldn't Jack have turned the page? What happens when we lose Lecroy like we did Corbin (which is the best thing ever happened to Clemson imo) and Sullivan? And back to the Khalil years, this years freshman class is better than I've seen over the past few years, however I still don't see any true hitters and players like we had back then beside Duggar. Pitching is improving but we still need some help. Hopefully we can come through and bring those guys in over the next few years. Hell maybe we win the next two and I hope we do. But I still believe we need a commitment to baseball asap and I hope Drad brings that to Clemson. I never post but felt the need tonight after this frustrating loss. USC came in here relaxed, smiling, and taunting our fans like it was their job. I just hope Clemson can build what it's capable of building and not fall short. Clemson should be dominant in baseball year in and year out!
