having Venables passion but instead a card-carrying side-line coach who’s cool & calm, has rare physical contact with a player to encourage, looks at Dabo for cues, non-emotional & hand on hip poses too (see pic).

I light the young man but don’t think he’s got all the coaching expertise we badly need, hasn’t had chance to develop his current players enough time-wise nor recruit his own staff and future stye players.

I do take a little offense to his comment that we don’t have the necessary type players, that he had at TCU, to get the job done since we have so much better “rated” talent than he had there.

Maybe he was talking about intelligence!

We don’t have the skill players, an OL and the time and familiarity in his system that he had at TCU.

I can certainly see Riley improving dramatically as the offensive coordinator at Clemson. We really don’t know what liberties he has right now. I expect that coach Swinney is deeply involved in play calling. Did you ever see Swinney conversing with Coach Venables..? I didn’t.
