I mentioned yesterday on TNet that I was hearing bells at exciting moments on ABC broadcast..
and no one came in to let me know I wasn't dreaming & in heaven viewing a scary close game.
Now, I'm reading there were sounds of Bells rather than the roar of The New TiGER atop Scoreboard.
What's uP with chimes?

Agree. Bells are what they do in Chapel Hill for the 4th quarter. It was driving me batty yesterday on TV, so I can't imagine how awful it was live. We don't need bells and certainly don't need to be like the Heels.

It's because we have a blasting new sound systems that you can really feel the bells / gongs.
I personally like it to get the crowd out of their phones as a warning that it's third down for the opponents and time to get loud.

yeah i was watching the game at home and heard them, usually at a bar with the Clemson club where the sound isn't always the best, and I thought ###, don't need that crap, especially if they're electronic and not big ben being dragged around the field..

There's a loud whistler in the South stands near the 20-30 yard line or so. He gets picked up on broadcasts, and was definitely present when fans were sharing videos of the entrance from that vantage point. He even whistles out the woo hoo.

Sad that we stole that bell thing. A tiger roar would be so much better than a bell. Honestly, if people have to hear a bell to let them know it's 3rd down then I'm disappointed.
