The Rockies first baseman had quite the mental lapse in the top of the fifth Monday with his team up 7-3 on the Rangers. With runners on second and third, Prince Fielder hit a grounder to Paulsen, who tagged first for the third out and started toward the dugout. One problem: There was only one out in the inning. Nick Martinez scored on the play and, thanks to heads-up baserunning, Rougned Odor did, too.
In the bottom of the ninth with runners on first and second, Paulsen lined a single to left-center to score Drew Stubbs and give the Rockies an 8-7 win.
