upcoming season and this is just my opinion on the defensive side of the ball. Personally, I feel like we will be improved for a couple of reasons. 1. Makuba is healthy and hopefully the experimenting they did with him last year proved to them not to experiment this year. The secondary with a year's experience should be improved. 2. Linebacker corps may be the best we have ever had and I go all the way back to Randy and Bubba. Woodaz will have a better year than Simpson did because he does not make mistakes. Simpson flat out blew some plays last year that cost us games. Just go back and watch. 3.And I believe this 100 Percent. A freshman P. Woods going 100% every play(and everything I have seen of him leads me to believe he only has one speed, WO..WIDE OPEN, will be more productive than Miles Murphy last year, who frankly reminded me of J. Clowney's junior year where loafed a LOT!And Orhorhorho will be better than Bresee. I love Bresee, but outside of his freshman year, due to just bad circumstances, just did not have the production he could have. Ruke will be out to make money this year and we will benefit from it...

I'll give you my offensive prediction later on....Anyway, just a pitiful real estate agent's opinion. I hope I am right!

I also think our defense coordinator learned quite bit from last year that will do us well this year.

Bullets...probably can't say that anymore...but you know what I mean. I agree with you. Should have listed that as maybe #1. Wes will have to be more at ease calling plays after last year. I mean, it has to be unnerving the first year it is ALL ON YOU. It has been 50 years since I took my first snap under center and I still remember how nervous that was....

Couldn’t agree more and also on Wes bengals more comfortable now. I’ve said all along, this D got better through subtraction. We had some guys starting last year who just didn’t always have a high motor for whatever reason. The guys left don’t seem to have that mindset, this is their year to make $$

Spud I agree with analogy. I don’t see why it won’t be better than last year. Thomas if healthy is on a mission. Davis and Pwoo destroying that middle of line over and over. Offense has to be 10 pts better and keep our defense fresher. So that will help with fatigue

Yea buddy! I hope you are right too. The one thing you mention I had not considered was the possibility of Woodaz having a better year than Simpson. If that happens our D will be truly dominant. The D line should be able to control the LOS and let the LBs play free and fast. Trotter and Carter will flourish behind our DL. Could be one of those years when the opposing offense won’t be able to keep up with where the pressure is going to come from on any given play. If Wiggins picks up where he left off last year and Makuba gets back to his freshman form the back end is very solid and this defense should be very exciting. I love watching a great defense and this could be another fun year for that.

A great Defense makes an offense look, and perform, much better, too, IMO. We find out soon.

I, too, think this year will be much different, and hopefully, back to championship caliber level of play. I think DJ's very marginal play impacted the entire team, defense included. I don't think we see that again this year. Add to that the new coordinator and the new talent, and I believe we will be back with a vengeance all over the field with O & D feeding off each other. That's my hope, anyway. We find out in a couple of months.

That would be shocking.
