Bill Walton smoked weed after every game in the UCLA locker room

with John Wooden's blessing. It's so dumb to arbitrarily demonize a PLANT that has zero health risks and causes no harm other than the fact that people you can get arrested for it. Maybe they have anxiety or isomnia or pain or a litany of other things it helps.

If you think weed has no health risks then you are dumber than the players who got sent home.

There's a lot of legal things that are much more a risk to your health than smoking a joint....

The mental and physical effects are well documented. However, what gets me is the fact that I'm banned from smoking my cigarettes daily while rights are given to pot heads. Btw, I smoked massive amounts in my youth.

Skoal or Grizzly is way better for you. I'm not a doctor though. Vape it, you can smoke your tobacco indoors.

Chewing upsets my stomach. I've vaped in the past and think that it's going to create a habit not possible with smokes. The amount of nicotine I was able to consume far surpassed anything else. However, if it helps to kick the habit ... +1 for giving a sh!t

In the addiction counseling world, we call this a "rationalization". Every addict has used it. I've used it. The problem: it's just not true.

I don't think weed should be illegal but regardless breaking the law no matter how stupid it may seem is wrong especially when you represent a huge university. It's about teaching young kids right from wrong. Bottom line it's ILEGAL. Even tho I don't agree with that law myself it's the law. It takes muscle pain away and relaxes you and knocks some stress off. I find it better than going out and getting drunk and driving or getting withdraw symptoms from tobacco that can kill 250,000 ppl a year. Natural substance not a drug.

Wooden allowed Walton to smoke pot àfter every game.....regardless, I bet Wooden wouldn't have condoned Walton's use of lsd...,Wooden knew his plàyers were receiving illegal benefits and was a çheater who never got investigated by the NCAA as far as I know

Sorry to call you out but this is an interesting read. Last few paragraphs it said Wooden allowed Walton to SMOKE WEED when he need to relax as long he didn't tell his teammates. Great coaches always use alternative methods. Phil Jackson loved all types of stuff. Steve Jobs did acid...Not a statement we just need to get off the moral high horse and stop judging. If we lose because Deon smoked we don't deserve to be there anyway.

You're dreaming. My Mon went to UCLA. I follow UCLA closely, because I grew up a fan. I am from So Cal. I was a kid in the 70's. I am old. If hadn't attended Clemson, I would have strictly been UCLA as far as being a fan. That stuff never happened. There is a cool documentary on HBO on demand and you can learn more about Walton and especially John Wooden. Their relationship was nothing like that. I guarantee Walton was never allowed to smoke weed in the locker room. That's not John Wooden. Anyway, I will never believe that. I appreciate your opinion. I wasn't there, but the day I get confirmation that John Wooden allowed Bill Walton to smoke weed in the locker room and supported that is the day I question everything I know. I am pro weed too.

He probably got to smoke at halftime. He hardly ever played in the second half because the game was over after the first quarter. It probably did not help his pro career but the guy loves weed. His son does too and he is a really good coach.

Unfortunately, it's not the place for them to push the limit. They screwed up-period. It is certainly nothing unique--what they did. However--major alcohol hangover and throwing up---oops I'm sick--although they can be tested for alcohol....but yes--weed is what they look for and its easy to test.

During Bill Walton's glory days, there were no sophisticated test for weed. Times have changed
