Said since qb TB each new QB has been slowly put into some decent rotation or at least some playing time behind the starter while Cade was not given this advantage.

Makes some sense..and when staff did put Cade in (like at ND and near the goal line, he failed with an int).

What thinks you?

I was shocked when they said on TV that Cade had played in 10 games last year. I don't recall 10 games.

But yes, I totally agree. There were plenty of times when he could have played. Games we clearly had in hand but DJ5 stayed in. Those would have been valuable snaps. He still has happy feet and dookies, as did Tennessee knew that.

His best throw was to Tyler brown.

On the road in Sanford stadium in front of 90K of the most deplorable detestable troglodytes; against his home state’s flag ship program. All he did was stand back there like he was waiting on the bus and unleash a dart 30 yards down field between two defenders and hit peake in stride. DW4 and Trevor both have a resting heart rate of 30, I haven’t seen that yet from Cade. I believe he can develop that, but the others came in ahead in that area.

Yes, DW did go in on that play at UFa and made a magnificent tight throw but remember he was pulled immediately and was played sparingly for awhile thus inserted when best..

while Cade was treated differently and missed a ton of possible play & experience.

DW4 and Trevor both took over for good after 4 games when

The staff felt they were ready and were the better option. For whatever reason that didn’t happen with Cade even though the staff had shown a willingness to make a change at QB in the past. Maybe Streeter was the reason; those other QBs had different OCs and maybe they were more inclined to make a change. But the bottom line is Cade has had much more playing time now than DW4 did when he went into the UNC game and set a freshman record for TDs. Lack of game time doesn’t explain the performance last night. For reference Cade had 100 pass attempts in spot duty last year and DW4 only had 137 his entire freshman year.

CK2 got plenty of big game playing experience last year.

We could not play him very often because:

(1). Most of our games were too close to risk losing them for CK2’s development. (BC game was an exception; CK2 should have played more in that one.)

(2). His play, when given several chances last season in situations other than garbage time against cup cake teams, was clearly not good enough to justify further play in critical situations.

Clemson plays to win FB games. Weaker programs will sacrifice games / seasons so that a young QB can be given PT; doing it this way helps those weaker programs to be occasionally competitive vs the powerful programs.

Drake Maye RS’d his true FR season; UNC didn’t think D.Maye was ready to beat out (the very good) Sam Howell.

CK2 got enough big game experience to get him started on the right foot for this season. He just needs more time than guys like T.Boyd, D.Watson, and T.Lawrence to become the ‘win games for us’ QB that those other guys needed.

Tajh Boyd had almost no experience when he took over as the starting QB in 2011. That was with a new OC and new offense as well. Look at the numbers they put up that year. You can't tell me Clemson was more talented in 2011 than now.
