God thing they told me about it prior to. I would have thought they started reimbursing for phone expenses again.

and we did better as a group, worse as a company. I think they are planning for a sub-par 2024 and punishing our bonuses for that. They weren't much to start with, but I guess it is better than nothing. Will pay for a little bit of a trip out west.

if it makes you feel any better, they raised our cap 20% this year.
when cost of capital is near 700X higher than years' past and people terrified to spend capital.
they left it stagnant from '19 - '22...which also happened to be blockbuster years for my industry. 2020 in particular.
wife's not getting her bonus either.
just gotta ride the storm out, man. batten down the hatches. gonna be a rough 5 - 7 quarters more if we're lucky.

People in design and construction are doing layoffs...

All the major corporations we work with are doing 'layoffs' by bringing people back in the office and people are quitting.
We're seeing more resumes than we've seen since pre-Covid.
Yet unemployment numbers aren't budging. And neither is inflation.
Something is off.
