Any chess enthusiasts? Been watching the Queen's Gambit on netflix.

My older brother and I got into chess pretty heavy during the Fischer-Spassky chess match in 1972 for the world championship. These matches were shown on ABC's Wide World of Sports, and it was the best of 24 games. Fischer won 12.5 to 8.5. I guess it was so popular because it was during the cold war and U.S. vs. the Soviet Union was a huge deal. About a month after this ended, the Soviets beat us in hoops at the 1972 Olympics in that infamous game where the last 3 seconds were replayed 3 times.
I also remember playing chess occasionally in Johnstone Hall from time to time and recently when flying on Delta, chess is one of their games on the lil TV screen. That Delta computer always kicks my a$$.
But, thumbs up for the Queen's Gambit, it's a pretty good one season miniseries. It takes place from the mid-50s to late 60s and also pits the U.S. champ against the Soviet champ.

Loved the series and have been a player since a kid. Don't do as much now and don't have the time to do the random games I used to on chess(.)com.
Down for a game sometime if you are.
The series had great symbolism (like how she starts out looking like a black pawn and then ends the show dressed like a white queen) and storytelling.
