Here's a list of number of NCAA tournament appearances, over the past 10 seasons (2012-2013 - 2022-2023), for all current P5 conference basketball coaches who have been head coach at their respective schools for that entire time period:

Izzo - Michigan State - 10
Self - Kansas - 10
Bennett - Virginia - 8
Painter - Purdue - 8
Calipari - Kentucky - 8
Drew - Baylor - 8
McCaffery - Iowa - 7
Altman - Oregon - 7
Larranaga - Miami - 6
Huggins - West Virginia - 6
Hamilton - Florida St- 4
Boyle - Colorado - 4
Brownell - Clemson - 2

Also, Chris Collins, in only his 9th season, has now received 2 NCAA tournament bids at Northwestern, which are the only tournament appearances in school history.

So the minimum number of appearances is at least double. 7-8 appearances is close to average.

To maintain or be excited about a coach that misses tournaments 85% of the time, is the definition of "Insanity" as I have stated in many times.

Unfortunately this was probably CBB's best team ever at Clemson and he couldn't make the dance.

Please let's find a new path!

This graphic shows that Clemson has been very patient with the basketball coach.

That is all you can take away from it unless you think it is reasonable to compare Clemson tournament history to schools like Kansas and Kentucky.

Yeah but one of those times we made the sweet sixteen. So that’s like equal to two or three more appearances right?

Florida St. has been a pretty good team overall. They probably deserved to be invited more than 4 times but the ACC was actually good a few yrs ago.

It's amazing how the retirement of Roy and Coach K could drop the conference so much. Oh wait!!! Add in Pitino from Louisville!!

Oh wait again, maybe the FBI "Shoe Money" disabled more "Coaches' and schools than expected. It is amazing how the mighty have fallen and isn't it funny how the 1-n-dones dont get griped about now since schools can't buy all the top players.

What has happened to schools like:
Duke
Kentucky
Unc
Louisville
Ucla
Arizona
Iowa St.
Etc.
Etc.

Top bball schools have dropped into the relevant level of barely above average. But schools with money that never been relevant like Bama, LSU, etc, have raised their stock substantial since shoe money went away
