Brringing back some memories

A Football Program Feature this weekend features some of the oddest occurences at Death Valley(The Death Valley).

Some great memories here. I know I've told the story about the back to back field goal kicks a hundred times, as well, as the Willam Perry blocked punt story. (The other story about William Perry in that same game is that he caught a Wake Forest Tailback from behind on a toss sweep out of his nose tack position...it was awesome). I remember saying something like, "I think someone talked about his mama". Plays that I've never seen repeated.

And, of course the 385,000 ballons my freshman year...just a month after we introduced C-L-E-M-S-O---N to Tiger Rag.

At the 1980 chicken kickin' when we warmed up in white pants, I was sitting in granddaddy's seats in the handicap section that used to extend from the South stands towards the west end zone and had a perfect vantage to see that we had changed into orange pants after warm ups. Equally great to watch a beat down.

I remember the Duke 57 yard field goal. Willie Underwood (I think) was sitting back under the goal post to return a short field goal attempt only to see it hit the cross bar and bounce through...and tie Dook at homecoming.

I don't remember the team warming up on the soccer field before the 1976 USuCk game. All I remember is watch a gaggle of fights on the hill...Fortunately, I was in the South stands.

That was so awesome. And Fridge chasing down the tailback was in the same game you say - 2nd play on this video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Yt2yAzjUK8. Never seen a replay of the blocked punt though. The end of the Duke game in '76 and the back to back FGs at the end of the UGA game in '84 were you're referring to were wierd. Man, you bring back alot of memories. Loved the Orange pants coming down the hill vs SC in '80.

PANTS & ORANGE SHOES & ORANGE HELMETS!!!

Could have saved myself some words by just yelling ALL ORANGE! It was unbelievable since we had a very average team..but it stopped a very good SC Team...and was the start of the NC season.
