The careless vehicle operation ticket is probably from him driving like a complete dumas somewhere on campus.
It gets murkier when you try to figure out why CUPD cops don’t take the obvious route when they realize he’s on the team, and tell him to drive safer, instead using the “let’s search his entire car” method.

to be a concealed permit holder and to have the weapon secured in the glove box or trunk. I would guess that if law enforcement could get a warrant for every car on campus during a home football game, they could overflow all of the upstate jails under that same charge.

I think this is for any public school campus in the state
1. must be licensed CWP holder
2. must be in secure place (glove box, trunk, center console, or locked gunbox)
3. must be 21+
not sure if this new law (the no-CWP carry), if it passes, will change anything.

home games at Clemson are private parties hosted by Central Spirit (rental fee of $1 for the campus), so not only are guns allowed, it's encouraged that patrons and fans empty celebratory AK-47 banana clips in the air after dispatching ranked teams, and firing 50 cal rounds at (empty) opponent busses after losses.

This is why we go to the trouble to fill out the remaining roster with caucasian walk-ons from upper-middle-class families with the means to hire attorneys. A college football program has to show at least SOME arrest statistics to remain relevant...it's roster management that is the real issue here.
