hard to tell when he hands the ball off the majority of his snaps. He does need to learn to not run into where his blocks are being pushed.

He’s definitely not ready. his youth and lack of playing time showed. However, we had to take DJ out. Just can’t keep turning the ball over and making terrible throws. At least cade stopped the bleeding.
This is a Game if we don’t turn the ball over we win by five touchdowns

You can only solve these problems by letting him play more. It's not really a fair thing to put the freshmen into a game where the offense has turned it over 4 times and the team is down 2 scores and expect him to win the game with 0 real playing time. It worked out that syracuse is just undisciplined though.

Yet DJ has played well for the most part, definitely carried us to a win against Wake, and 1 game means he is out. DJ pretty much stunk it up today, but he should still be the first out against ND. His leash is shorter, but that is the extent of it.

I agree. Not taking anything away from Cade. Very likely we lose if Dabo stuck it out with DJ today. But, Cade still just doesn’t have the experience yet. I DJ will be prepared for a great day in South Bend.

The Big Cinco was out of synco today. Klubnik was 2 for 4 passing and one incompletion was close to being an INT. What Dabo did by putting Klubnik in the game was get the fans fired up and stabilize the offense. Of course, 2 Syracuse personal foul calls helped too. DJ will be back!

IMO, being able to read the defense is one of the top things and that is where DJ leads. But DJ was clearly mental today. Rattled, inconfident, just a bad day... whatever you wanna call it, but we clearly looked to be headed for a loss.

I agree with Cade not doing enough. The other is simply speculation. Definite maybe.
Cade throwing is scary, like a Forrest Gump - you just don’t know what you are going to get.
It would be nice to see Cade get a couple of series each game. But we have not had that luxury this year.

I agree. He needs to learn how to get rid of the ball and stop running backwards.
Our OL stunk. I'ma start calling Parks and Putman our two donuts.
These two are not playing up to minimum league standards.

He did show enough to earn quality snaps at meaningful times in future games. We will need him ready for the playoffs and next year.

He showed enough to not warrant the HC declaring the DJ the bonified starter before even hearing what his OC thinks.
Dabo has a history of playing favoritism with upperclassmen. He made eventual #1 and #12 overall picks have to outplay a junior/senior who were gameplanned for and got the reps with the 1s in practice...
Had we gameplanned in 2014 for Deshaun Watson to play week 1&3, we probably win one of those games and find ourselves in the orange bowl (possibly acc championship) instead of the Russell athletic bowl.
The best player should play, no questions asked. Every week should be a competition and a starter shouldn't be declared after the starter almost costs us the division and the backup saves our season.
