Grace period almost up for you "Squatters" out there in SC

Back in May, South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster signed Senate Bill 363 into law after the bill flew through both chambers with very little opposition. SB363 prohibits drivers from operating vehicles that have their front fenders raised or lowered four or more inches from the height of their rear fender, also colloquially known locally as the Carolina Squat.

The law went into effect last November, but a six-month grace period was given and law enforcement only issued warning citations.

Beginning Friday, May 10, police will begin writing tickets, which will start at $100 and escalate from there -- ultimately leading to license suspension after the third offense.

Was getting my car serviced a while back and a kid with his flat brim on backwards came in for an oil change. She told him we don't work on squatted trucks. He said do you know who my dad is? She said sure do and we still don't work on squatted trucks.

He stormed out, smoked the front of the shop or whatever you call it, pulled out right in front of traffic on Hwy 9 causing several cars to slam on brakes.

She calmly picked up the phone and made a call. Right before I left he was dropped off out front from a minivan (sans hat) driven by I assume his mom and came in to apologize. He then asked how much it would cost to get it leveled. He apologized again and said his dad had taken away his truck and license until he got a job and earned the money to to fix his truck.

I guess dad's willingness to spoil his kid ended when the kid insulted someone he liked to do business with.
