Can Rattler come back next year

or is this his last year? It seems like he’s been around forever, but with Covid who knows? Definitely seems like Bo Nix has been around forever too.

He could use his Covid waiver for one more year.

Obviously, the rumor is, he’s really getting paid big to stay there. If he is not an NFL guy, I’m not sure why he’d leave.

Not a rumor. SCAR's NIL initiative called On3 paid Rattler $1 Mil to come back for 2023.

On3 is not a "SCAR NIL initiative" and they didn't pay Rattler anything. They just estimated his NIL value to be approximately that much, like they do with every other player. Anyone claiming to know how much he's making is almost certainly spreading rumors.

"Garnet Trust" is the name of their official NIL initiative.

I heard it was 5 mil but that seems ridiculous. A million sounds more like it.

He’s a late round pick at best, which means he’ll net more by staying at usc.
Maybe next year he gets drafted, but Rattler really should transfer again.
Wanting to leave Columbia should be a pre-approved NCAA reason.
He’s a one contract NFL guy so mind as well get it now.

This. He redshirted first year at OU. He has had four full seasons since then if you include this one. Two with OU and two with SCAR. So I guess the free COVID year would give him one more. He probably leaves because even though the team has sucked he has played pretty good. I doubt he wants to be a part of another losing team if he thinks he will be drafted in first few rounds.

Because of the QB list for the NFL draft this season, I expect to see Rattler back next season as a chicken.

I suspect he finds a reason for a waiver to transfer somewhere else for that last year. It is a hostile work environment for sure. Maybe he’s got a phobia of choo choos.

Not sure. I’m sure they will make a nice offer. D Joyner said in an interview that he was paid to come back and he accepted to help support his family. They did not have the Newberry transfer at that time and only had two RBs on roster

He’d be crazy to come back. The coots better thank their lucky stars he came back. Rattler is the only reason why they’ve won a few games and the only reason why they could win their remaining games.

If he does have another year and chooses to play it I’m betting he goes to another D1 team. Unless the NCAA closes the loophole for multiple transfers
