Can we hold LSU to 20 something points?

I know it seems outlandish at first. But why can't we? We held OSU to 23, lowest of their season. OSU has been at, or near the top of offensive metrics all season. Also, OSU's strength, running the ball, was a poor matchup for our defense. LSU will be throwing into the strongest part of our D. Obviously, I respect Burrow and that offense but if we force them to kick FGs in the redzone then I wouldn't be surprised if we hold them to less than 30.
I think their offensive output against OU is misleading and recency bias has a lot of people fooled right now. Even LSU staffers were saying that they didn't think OU was even a top-15 team. Pretty resounding when you consider they spent 3 weeks watching every shred of OU film they could find.

I think we definitely can.
We have to put consistent pressure on Burrow from all directions. A lot of teams have tried this, and Burrow picked them apart. But they don't have the athletes we do - ala Wallace, Simmons, etc...
Also, I have mad respect for Joe Burrow. But no human alive can repeat what he just did. He had a once in a lifetime game and will come back to reality. If we get pressure, our DBs can cover as well as any DBs in the nation and let's just see what happens with that.
They will score. No doubt about it. But keeping them to 28 is not out of the question by any means. There will be a ton of distraction for LSU going into this game with all of the hype for them, that plays into our hands.

Is it possible? Yes, but it will require a total team effort. It will require Clemson’s offense to put together long clock eating drives. Burrow can’t do squat when he’s sitting on the bench watching our offense.

With all due respect, I don't think we change our offense to slow their offense that sounds like playing scared and definsive witch is a recipe for a loss. I think if we score in 2 minutes in every drive then the D just needs to find away to get off the field.

I’m not suggesting that we change our offense or our offensive philosophy. We’ve been extremely balanced on offense all year. I’m suggesting we remain so. LSU Defensive stats #22 rushing defense #8 pass efficiency defense #40 scoring defense.
I thought the Bucknuts forced us to change our run game a bit. I’m thinking LSU might be less successful against our run game.
I think LSU’s single best strength is their air raid passing attack. Anything we can do to diminish what they do best, is good for us. To me that would be a balanced possession attack, keeping their offense on the sidelines.

Okie's defensive scheme was an abomination … LSU has been lucky to face the teams they have at their weakest. Ask yourself, is this team really better than last years Bama team. I think not. Prior to our game , people said the winner of our game would win the Natty in NOLA. Now, its SEC hype time. People are switching their bets. Its a sucker's bet. All that glitters is not gold.

Venables and Swinney are aware of what they are dealing with in LSU. Trying to look at this without my orange glasses tells me no way we hold them under 30. That doesn't mean we cant win. I feel this is headed towards a game like our 1st 2 battles with Bama. Its gonna take 40+ for either team to win it. A white knuckle battle is headed our way. So enjoy the ride!

Don't think so

I think OSU went for a ball-control approach. I don't remember a lot of downfield passing, though Dobbins broke off some big runs.
Below 40? I think so. We just can't start slow again and go nearly a half without scoring

The number is 34. Match it and we get overtime. Beat it and we get confetti. Again.

Given that both offenses are to an extent, high tempo, and especially theirs, I expect a lot of possessions. I think we may do well on a points per possession basis, but I think they score more than 30. If it is a low scoring game then I think that we have a big advantage.

Yes we can. I recommend that we Sandusky them

No. Not in the showers. On the football field. In the 1986 Fiesta Bowl National championship if a slow mediocre Penn State defense could stop Michael Irvin, Benny Blades, Brent Perriman, Alonso Highsmith, Vinny Testaverde etc. and hold them to 10 points in a 14-10 defeat, then Brent Venables and our Clemson defense can stop this LSU team.
We do not like to mention his name these days, but Jerry Sandusky put together a great defensive plan that shut Miami down and led Vinny Testaverde into five interceptions.
As it turns out, Testaverde really wasn’t that great of a quarterback and had a mediocre pro career. But at the time of this game he was touted as the man. He didn’t get exposed when playing the number one Oklahoma team in 1986 or in playing excellent Florida State, Florida, and other competition. Testaverde got exposed in the bowl game. The great Miami team got exposed in the Fiesta Bowl and got beaten.
LSU has great coaching and Joe Burrow appears to be the real deal. Great kid. Great arm. Great composure. Great coaching. But LSU will have to prove it on the field in two weeks. No one was scared of Joe Burrow last year. No one knows if he will turn out to be a great quarterback at the next level. For Clemson it’s all about the next two weeks.
For what it’s worth, our quarterback Trevor Lawrence will have a long NFL career.

Very unlikely IMO.

Lack of a pass rush is going to hurt us a lot. If we can hold them to some FGs in the red zone we can probably score enough to win the game, but i really think they are going to put up 500-600 yards on us. Vegas has the O/U at 70 which would be something like 38-32 LSU. Obviously we need to hold them to less than that, and we can if we get some red zone stops.

I think the trick is we have to score >35... probably closer to 49. They're going to get their 35-45 pts.

than 45, and all have much worse offenses than Clemson too. I don't think 45+ is anything close to a given.

The short answer is no. Ohio State really exposed your defense in the first quarter when they gas them on high tempo. High tempo is all we run and we run it all game. At one point in the SEC championship we went 28 players without subbing.
The only way to have a chance to do that is for Clemson to go on long methodic drives and keep our offense off the field.

Ohio State's tempo taught our DC a lesson. 2-3 plays were actually embarrassing. I promise it will not be an issue on Jan 13th. Our defense won't be caught off-guard again.
I'm more worried about stopping Burrow, Edwards-Helaire, Chase and Jefferson.
The answer is being efficient on offense. Avoid punts and FGAs. Simple as that. Doesn't matter how quick we score.
