I worked yesterday on two hour sleep due to the drive-by thumpers destroying my tranquility so my accomplishments are meager.

I got my air compressor, oil/water removing system set up in the work space along with the 4 stands I built to paint doors, fender...on and stacked all my paint, painting supplies, paint tools, prep and post paint finish tools delivered to the garage. Two full truckbed loads. One more mobilization load and I think I'll have everything I need other than final stage buffing tools and products.

I drank a tallboy last night which hit me like Rocky Marciano's 'Susie Q,' hit Joe in the 8th round knocking him through the ropes and out of the ring forever. Like Lewis, I woke up the next morning.

The highlight of the day was figuring out how not to disassemble all those body panels making it difficult to realign them all and reproduce the craftsmanship that the German engineers demanded back 45 years ago.

Step one. Remove the fenders,

2. Sand the original paint with 320 grit on a long throw Mac pneumatic DA sander then seal them with Transtar 2K epoxy primer.

3. Sand with prob 400 grit with ready then shoot three or four coats of highbuild primer, sanding process TBD according to conditions.

4. Seal that primer with transtar 2K, sand ready to basecoat and remount the fenders.

5. Remove the hood, all 4 doors, sunroof and trunk lid and repeat the process which I used for the fenders.

6. Sand the 2K primer and shoot the base and clearcoats on all those parts.

7. Repeat all those painting processes on the quarter panels and all left of the body from the tail light openings to the A-pillars.

8. Remount the front doors and hood after cutting and buffing them on the table then remove the fenders, finish paint them, and cut and buff.

9 Remount the trunk, sunroof, rear doors, front doors then rear windshield which I've tinted along with all the side glass.

I'll probably install the door regulators/motors, glass, exterior mirrors, aluminum trim, door handles, lower fluted cladding at the garage and put the tag on the car and drive it home. That's according to whether I feel like refinishing the plastic around the euro headlights, side lights and tail lights at that time or not. I probably will.

I will post pictures of my daily chores and pictures of the dust trail my butt cheeks dragged out on the floor as I walk away each day. It's not going to be the most fun I've ever had but it's right there with the best I can have now.
