CBS Sports ranked all ten national championships in the four-team College Football Playoff, where the 26-23 Alabama overtime win over Georgia in 2017 topped the final-seconds winner for Clemson over Alabama in 2016:

"Clemson entered the fourth quarter of the CFP title game down 10 to Alabama before scoring on a 4-yard touchdown from Deshaun Watson to Mike Williams and a 1-yard touchdown run from Wayne Gallman to lead. Alabama took the lead back with 2:07 left when Hurts scrambled up the middle for a 30-yard score, but Clemson would have the last laugh. Watson led Clemson on a nine-play, 68-yard drive that ended with a 2-yard touchdown catch by Hunter Renfrow with a single second remaining. If Tagovailoa's walk-off touchdown is the most iconic championship moment in the CFP era, Watson's last-second touchdown is a close second."

The 2015 season's 45-40 loss to Alabama ranked fourth, the 2019 title game with LSU, fifth, and the decisive 44-16 victory over Alabama in the 2018 season, eighth.

toward SEC. I didn’t even watch the “all SEC” title games between Bama and UGA. Couldn’t have cared less about them. LSU game was entertaining; there was just no stopping them that year (it being a home game for LSU didn’t help us either). Other Bama/Clemson title game when they beat us was entertaining too, but we just couldn’t stop them when it counted. I’m proud of how many CFP games - and title matches - our Tigers have been in. Nice to look back and remember the success!

What I was interested in seeing again was the replay of the winning touchdown and remembering those players and comparing them to what we have today. It is easy to see why we won so many games over the Championship years and to see why we have not made the Playoffs the last 3 years. Recruiting and development equal wins and hopefully we are on the way to big wins again.

I fail to understand how a back and forth game that was decided on the last play was not the most exciting…..

Even 2019 LSU. I think I saw somewhere where 21 players off that 2018 Clemson team made the NFL, and THIRTY off 2019 LSU made it. That's a whole lot of star power right there!
