celebration penalties

I do not understand how it is possible that FSU gets a celebration penalty, but Mason spikes the ball like he is in the NFL and nothing is called. Officiating has been suspect this bowl season. But Herbie and musburger and millen day it was great.

games. Our game was by far the worst. But the refs cheated Duke out of a win, and the refs made some poor calls against FSU and ignored blatant penalties by Auburn.

If you are referring to the penalty after the second to last

touchdown, that penalty was for taunting the Auburn sidelines, not excessive celebration.

Yes, but a celebration towards a sideline gets a penalty but a Spiked ball and a mocking heisman pose in full view gets ignored. Total BS, and probably some money under the table.

I guess the ref completely missed it...

but it was blatant. They actually missed three calls alsomost all in a row.
(1) Mason's spike (2) FSU block in back right in front of KR on ensuing kickoff. (3) Horse collar

No call..............

On the big pass play near the end of the game to Green that set up the winning td, it looked to me like there was a facemask AND a horse collar RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE REF....yet no call! Fifteen yds sure would have helped at that point.

with the coaches doing a breakdown of each play live during the game. At one point early in the game there was a def pass interference call that was not called. They showed the replay, and all of the coaches basically agreed that it should have been called. However, Coach Sumlin made the best point. It wasn't called and basically the referees are saying to the teams that this is the level of contact that will be tolerated tonight. So at that point he would make sure that his WRs understand that they can be a little more physical when the ball is in the air too. The only caveat was that if this time it wasn't called and the next 2 times it was called...He hoped that there would be consistency.
