Clemson allowed opponents to score 14.7 ppg this season

That is really awesome! During the 2018 championship season we gave up 13.1 and the 2016 season was 18.0 . Truly an incredible year for the Defense.

This defense was better than the 2018 defense

once you factor in how many plays they faced and how much time they spent on the field due to our offensive struggles. The only defense we've had under Dabo that was on this level was probably 2017.

Also, our offense and special teams gave up several touchdowns, so the D did better than 14.7.

A competent offense and we most likely would have back in the CFP. It would not have taken a great offense, just half way decent.

I posted a couple of days ago that the Natty winners from the past 20 years have averaged 39 ppg and given up 14. Our D did it's job. Average offense get into the playoff? Maybe, maybe not. I'm not sure an average offense wins against Jawja. Would have been tough on the road against a high scoring Pitt team.
