Clemson assistants - what I am hearing

I know it has been a busy few days with rumors of Clemson assistants interviewing for other jobs, so let me catch up everybody up with what I am hearing.

I was told earlier today by someone close to Brent Venables that they would be "stunned" if he left. Sounds like Chad Morris is in line for Arkansas and Phil Fulmer at Tennessee has zeroed in on a couple of candidates not named Venables. Looks like what Brent said in an interview yesterday held true - his moral compass told him to be loyal.

Tony Elliott - first off, congrats to Tony on winning the Broyles Award. As you likely heard earlier, UCF hired Josh Huepel.

Now for Jeff Scott - I have been told that he was contacted for the South Alabama job, but reports that he interviewed for it are inaccurate. From everything I've heard, he was contacted but politely said no.

With recruits able to sign on Dec 20th, this coaching staff is out on the road recruiting, and it sounds to me like Clemson will be at "full staff" when they meet Alabama on New Year's Day.
