Clemson only undefeated in ACC road gms in 7 of 70 seasons

Per the athletic department's Game notes after the win over FSU. I think they maybe missed the 1978 & 1982 seasons, though.

Either way, it's eye opening, considering the Tigers' 20 Conference titles. Clemson won conference titles in every decade since the ACC's inception, apart from 2000-2009, but until the current run from 2015 onward, had only won all their conference road games a couple of times ever.

Kind of puts some perspective on that 4th quarter this past Saturday, and even the OT win at Wake. Not easy to sweep the road games in-Conference, even for the most successful team in the ACC's history.

Keep in mind, Clemson only played 6-7 total conference games per year from 1953-1991, so they didn't even have to win 4 Conference road games in many of those years, like it takes today.
