Clemson should CLAIM National Championship this year...

UCF also isn't the first school to dispute the national championship. Alabama, for instance, recognizes 1973 as a championship year. The coaches' poll did name the Crimson Tide No. 1 that year, but voting took place before they lost to Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl. The Associated Press voted the Fighting Irish No. 1 and Alabama fourth after the season.

Ha! Years ago, I think it was App State (not sure) that was declared National Champs because they beat this one, who beat that one, so on and so on.

UPI is way more credible than some random "claim". part of the reason UPI voted before the bowls was that Notre Dame didn't even attend a bowl until like 1970.
