We gave up 20 sacks on the season. Much of that was the inability for the QB to process the rush.

88 teams gave up more sacks than us. Here are some of them:

LSU 22
NC State 23
FSU 24
Michigan St 25
Texas 26
Miss St 26
Ole Miss 26
Texas A&M 28
Louisville 29
UNC 30
Auburn 31
USC 33
Florida 39
South Carolina 41
UCLA 42
Alabama 43
Arkansas 47
Colorado Portal U 56

What separates the great teams out of that mix is having good QBs who can still complete passes under duress.

The OL will improve, but even more importantly Cade needs to grow up and develop into a seasoned QB who can navigate around when pressure (inevitably) comes. He needs to step up in the pocket and buy time. He needs to see the field much much better. We have guys open on nearly every pass play in this system, and we need Cade to deliver more consistently and confidently.

yeah…but maybe he is better than we thought at not taking sacks when crap breaks down

listen dude needs to improve but i think he can …and will

I think the “opportunities lost” will go down next season

2nd year with new O
2nd year as starter

it’s all right in front of him

we will see!

certainly more time in the saddle with riley can’t hurt

Inability to process the rush? By that, do you mean, he should have been able

to avoid the defender, or MULTIPLE defenders, that had flooded through our O-Line like it was tissue paper? There may have been a FEW of our sacks allowed that were due to holding the ball too long, but the vast majority of them were due to the ball and the defender arriving at CK at about the same time.
