Coach Bakich sounds extremely impressive

I have been extremely impressed with Coach Bakich and every word he has said since he stepped foot in Clemson after the hire this past summer.
From bringing Coach Leggett back, to talking about the standards at Clemson and how this is a special place for baseball and getting the guys to buy into the program on and off the field, he is ticking all of the boxes.
He has me very excited to see what this Tigers baseball team can be this year. On the surface, it sounds like our team is going to be more focused and better prepared for team baseball, which hopefully translates to better baseball play all around.
Will Weiss also sounds like the real deal as a closer. I cannot wait to see what this team has to offer, and I hope the Doug Kingsmore faithful can get behind this team.
Here's to a great year of Tiger Baseball! Go Tigers!

I’m extremely excited as well, he’s no fluke and he is a Clemson guy. As well as getting Jack Leggett back in the locker room.
Under Monte Lee, it always seemed that there was a small group of players that did very very well, and then everybody else did not contribute the same. This is especially hurtful in the postseason when teams are laser focused as compared to mid season. An example is Seth Beer and the teams he was on. At one point we got up to #3 nationally in 2017 I believe, but fell apart due to a lot of players not contributing.
Hopefully Bakich will make the right moves for the entire team. You know team chemistry and flow when it’s there in baseball, and it really hasn’t for the last few years.

Exactly you could almost sense the tension in the dugout from the stands at points under Monte.

He references a smart approach at the plate, sound defensive fundamentals, and a whole team style of play. Something we haven't see in a while. I can hardly wait, no more swinging for the fences and poor fielding.

I am optimistic and hopeful and excited. However what’s gonna happen when or if we hit some lows?

Similar to basketball, baseball has a very tangible goal

that is the same for all. Make it to the tournament. Been a while since we made any tourney noise. But I think we will be tourney regulars for a while. As for the danger of underachieving (pardon another basketball comparison), but Clemson apparently has a very low threshold for the program to be considered successful. Coach Bakich has time to develop. I will be surprised if this hire doesn’t pan out.

a passion and a fire and a guy that focuses on what we HAVE and then works on improving what we need.
Sounds like a dude we have over in the Reeves complex.
Doesn't sound a lick like another one . . . .
