Coach Chris Pederson retirement from coaching.

He was always a good coach, took Boise to new levels including the Fiesta Bowl against Okla. At Washington, he had them in the CFP one year with multiple 10 win seasons and then he just decided to retire.

Here is what he recently said about retiring and I wonder if this could happen to Dabo?

--"But my last year there, something really started to change and I felt like I wasn't being that good of a leader, I felt like I was short with people and I started to get cynical. We won most of our games but then the press or other people started coming at us with stuff like 'Why was that game so close?' Part of the job is answering those kinds of questions but that really started to get under my skin and I was really starting to slide backwards as far as the type of coach and the type of leader that I wanted to be."

generalize about what area of the country he comes from, why he thinks he is responsible for other people's attitudes, what constitutes leadership, et al

I'll just leave it at this: I can't see Dabo ever apologizing for being short with anyone - media or not - who is "coming at him". No, I think the good ol' Southern will always rise up in that moment, and give the person what they deserve, plus or minus.

The media has turned from reporting the news to trying to make news. Journalism has fallen to really low depths in some cases.

since anything can happen (with job or family or health)..

which makes it unreal that Saban has endured years of job stress & coaching changes but keeps churning winning teams out including this present bunch that has had to be babied along.

Dabo is strong within, wise & just getting going at his prime.

Pederson got out before NIL was a factor which has added new challenges to coaching where I can see it adding to frustrations as a coach and a leader of young men. Not saying Dabo would throw in the towel, but it's obvious he isn't happy with the direction of college football which could make it easier.

If Pederson didn't like it a few yrs ago, he really wouldn't enjoy it today. I always thought he would coach again as he is only 59.

Many arent happy but what is the solution given the lack of any leadership on college football.

No solutions unless the NCAA actually takes a new stance but they are relatively worthless at this point.

Certainly, it could happen with Dabo but all coaches go through it. They all know what they are signing up for when they become the head coach at a major D1 program.

Dabo has a passion for impacting the lives of young men and setting them on a path to a great future. Until that fire burns out, I think he keeps coaching regardless of all the outside noise thrown at him. In today’s world, no thin-skinned coach is going to survive.

Success will always breed opposition, as well as unrealistic expectations by those with an agenda.

I do understand what you are saying. Got to get old listening to all the complainers telling you what you should and should not be doing.

I think the college football landscape will drive a few away. Going to be difficult for a lot of teams to ever have competitive years with your rich competition buying the best players.

I’ll translate - “I have all the money I’ll ever need and given that, it’s just not worth it anymore to have to tolerate idiots that have never achieved anything asking me stupid questions as if I owe them an answer. Then there’s the crybabies. So uhhhhhhhh, bye.

It is all different now with NIL, transfer portal and conference realignment too! Money is front and center now. So yes, I expect him to walk away on his terms. He will try to get Clemson elite again and win a championship. A go out on top could happen for sure. Before he's 60 I would expect. What would he have to gain by staying till he's 65? The college game is now professional with varying rules. The on-going lawsuit with the NCAA seeking $3B in damages will blow the lid off of college athletics. The case is in CA court now, so watch out.
