Too bad college football doesn't have any more Coach Howards, or Bears, or Peahead Walkers. They added a lot of color to the game.

The architect he introduced was a great family friend, and very close to my grandparents. I used to get chances to visit his small little lake house way back. More like a cabin I thought....

Saw it recently on the market for around $800k. Crazy!

He's been gone many years, so that was cool to hear and see him. Didn't know his affiliation so close to FH. Really cool

I remember going with my dad to a Clemson football game in 1969 near the end of Coach Howard’s coaching career. I believe we played Alabama and they beat us pretty handily. I enjoyed this video, thanks for sharing it.

Thanks for the video press. It made my night. In the video, the gentleman that gave him the coon dog was who my daddy worked for on his farm when I was a baby. Years later when I was a teen, Mr. Jack would come in my daddy’s store in Cope during the week to get a couple of cold beers. He always made sure when he ordered a brand new Ford pickup, it would be Clemson orange !! He always had on his farming clothes, wore his rubber milking boots and had on his orange suspenders holding up his tan pants with a plaid shirt and always a Clemson hat on. He loved to coon hunt and would always ask if I wanted to go. Good times in Cope, S.C. !!!
