The winner of last night's Pub debate ...

Donald Trump. Of the 4 that actually participated, in my eyes the clear winner was Chris Christie. By far his best showing. Sadly, he doesn't have a prayer, but he's the only one that dares to speak the truth and call out Trump. It's a long shot for any of the others as well, but they all spend their time attacking each other, when the one they have to beat, the only one that matters, Donald Trump, is ignored. Last night was their chance to make it clear why they are a better choice than Trump, but all except Christie were too chickens hit. Poor DeSantis was dancing and dodging and trembling in his boots when challenged by Christie to say whether or not Trump was fit to be president.
Someday we, and generations to come, will all look back at this election cycle and regard it as a case study in mass insanity and stupidity.

This election cycle will be studied for decades on how a cult leader can trauma bond roughly 1/3rd of the population.

Oh well. I'd still take Haley over Trump. That's a vote I could actually hold my nose and make. Still not optimal by any means.
As far as I'm concerned, no rational, intelligent, and quality leader would ever volunteer to enter the circus that is American politics. That's just a fact. Our system is not designed to place the best leaders in power. Good people are repelled by our politics in the US, NOT attracted to it. The whole mess attracts the wrong TYPES of people. Party notwithstanding. And when a truly good politician enters and has success, they are shown the door by the wolves.

Most interesting thing is I was a POSC major, partly.

History was the other. Combine the two and you get a unique perspective. I just wonder what is happening today in Clemson's POSC classes? Constitutional Law? Lasser and Woodard are probably dumbstruck. I don't know, Woodard may have gone all MAGA, but I'm sure Lasser is dejected. All that major teaches, the "science" they call it, all of that is secondary to the bigger picture. I mean you can get into the minutia of urban and municipal and regional politics. But nationally, it's a trainwreck.
And it's the history majors who know this. My biggest concern is political science majors, who only study political science and have very little historical perspective or knowledge, are going to have a very myopic view of the political system we currently have in place. And the politicians and the media LOVE myopia. They would say the system we have is perfection, and the only problems are caused by the other party. That simply is not the case.

It's not the "other" party... It's the 'Uni-Party'. It's entrenched.***

I’m still not sure I could vote for her unless she starts moving her teeth when she talks. It’s unnerving how her lips move but her teeth stay together.

If I wanted to vote for a Dem, I'd vote RFK over Christie.

She definitely got knee capped for taking a stand against Trump.
What I would like her to explain now though is what is her rationale for potentially running as a 3rd party candidate for President?
How does splitting the anti Trump vote with Biden help in preventing a Trump presidency?

I don't see why Trump isn't "fit" to be President. He is an outsider who doesn't understand how all our Government Agencies work but everyone else with that knowledge and experience will let it go to waste by shilling for the status quo. Trump may have learned a lesson or two about how to deal in Washington and may be able to dismantle some of the Cabals as they were certainly exposed during his Presidency. This country would greatly benefit from it
