Dabo

I just read an article where Finbaum said that LSU is going to make a hard push for Dabo! Tiger brethren, rest assured, there are many that desire our downfall. The ACC wants us to stumble, the SEC lovers(ESPN, Finbaum, etc.) want us out of the picture. You know that bunch in Columbia that called Dabo a clown for 5 years are itching for him to leave. Here is my point, Dabo has done(fixed) everything he said he would. from the 5 in a row, to 70-33, to firing coaches when he deemed it necessary! He has said he will fix this.... why should we have any reason to doubt him? Arch Manning, and many other high profile recruits will be at Clemson Saturday, lets show up loud and proud! I firmly believe the best is yet to come! GO TIGERS!

Don't think the math works here. His current contract is for 93 million over ten years that runs through 2028. So, they would have to come with an 8 year deal at roughly 80 million to top the roughly 70 million he stands to earn over the next 7 years. That doesn't include the buyout money they would also have to pay to get him out of the contract. That's roughly 11 million more. He might even ask for another 10 year deal since that's what he got from Clemson. That would take it to 100 million plus the buyout for 11 million. I respect Finebaum's opinion but wonder if he's done the contract math. The largest and longest contract in the history of the NFL happens to be Jon Gruden which was 10 years at 10 million per year. So LSU is going to offer Dabo top tier NFL money to eclipse what he currently makes? Can't see it.

Of course. Signature game if for no other reason, name only. I trust @dhood will post a list of the officials. If not, I'm sure tci will. Speaking of which @ClemsonPaw would be nice to give us an update.
Loud and proud. I guess good PR that arch is here but let's not be an uga and go overboard as if he's the only one... I'd much rather impress the other attendees, if you catch my drift. Arch not a priority imo.

I don't see Dabo wanting to leave with this season being his last. Clemson gave him a chance when no other school would. This is his baby.

I suspect he has much more loyalty to Clemson than many Clemson fans have to him given what you read here

Agree, it's ok to discuss x and o's, Jimmy and Joes but only an idiot would question Dabo, his loyalty, and his judgement/dedication.

No loyalty from Clemson fans?
Just because fans/ outside football talking heads think there needs to be changes made on the offensive side , means we have shown no loyalty to Dabo. The guy has gotten basically everything he’s ever asked for at Clemson, not to mention fan attendance/support unmatched by anyone.
Do you live in such a bubble that you think if this year was happening at Alabama/LSU/ Georgia/Ohio State that there wouldn’t be heavy grumbling probably worse that what you hear here.
If Dabo considers LSU, it will be in my opinion mainly because he’s reached the top at Clemson and also because he wants out of the ACC. There is zero signs this conference is improving in football and I believe he wants Clemson in the SEC for recruiting purposes. This job is 10x tougher than it would be if he could recruit being able to throw in the “we play in the best conference in the card” to recruits.
I believe Dabo is target #1 for them with the Michigan State coach #2. And they’ll just have to match Clemson’s money offer to get him

When you look at a contract to match or exceed Clemson's 10 year deal then you have eclipsed multiple top coaches in the NFL. When all is taken into account, LSU could get Sean Payton or Sean McVay for the same or less than it would take to hire Dabo.

They would be smarter to go for Venables. I don't think LSU hires either one. They will pick a more diverse candidate.
