I love Dabo but he created the controversy seen on this board this morning. The way he has decided to split the QBs time in games has opened himself up to second guessing.
Pick a started and fully support the starter by giving him "starter minutes". Not fair to the WBs or the team. You need stability at the QB position. This ihsa been proven time and time again with football over the years.

Two games in and the season is lost because The Tigers have 2 QBs that may share playing time. I don't see any problem with that. I'm not like most fans. Perhaps allteamball you are.

He decided to put his "2nd stringer" in the game on the road in Athens down by 7. If you have a clear starter that in your mind is "clearly better" you DON'T do that. Watson is better NOW and it's not close. Dabo just don't have the guts to say or do anything about it.

I'm thinking you're right but I'm also guessing it was a calculated risk... If they don't create opportunities for Watson now then we go into next year with no QB experience at all. Under the current situation we have what appears to be a talented senior starter and a potentially even more talented backup getting valuable experience for when it's his turn.
I'm sure Dabo realized our instant gratification society may not be 100% satisfied with this but are they ever? Right now aside from the media trying to stir the pot and a portion of the fan base crying for more he actually appears to be making a pretty good play where QB is concerned.

Dabo is a lot smarter than you give him credit for. He has to play Watson because he is so talented. Otherwise, if he sits all year he will be unhappy and possibly transfer. You don't want to play a complete rookie with UGA and FSU in your first two games. It could shatter his confidence. He's getting him good experience now. After FSU, I predict Watson will get more and more playing time.
There is no controversy in having two very good QB's unless you're looking for a controversy.
