I hate to be writing you of such necessity, and fear the wrath and fodder Mama Keller and her band of merry men has so long warned me against for speaking of such transgress.
It's just that, since this years annual cold spell has set in, you haven't been able to keep my heart warm for even a fortnight. My dear friends and associates from the University tell me that you are a blight on my soul, and I have labored many seasons to believe they were wrong and that you were capable of changing. You keep needing more money, and my poor family cannot begin to understandeth where it all goes. I believe you are a good man, but I believe we can no longer see each other under the cover of "threes that didn't go in".
I hope Papa Neff can take care of me and the family.
I am sorry Brad...it's not me, it's you.

The delusional minds think Basketball problems are about those bad officials or #### cheating nc school. No it is the coaching, Like the movie about ground hog day we always fall back after good start because like other schools we do not change. We do not know how to win. ref dont cause us 5 plus min droughts, lazy cross court passes etc. We yell about the last 17 sec at Duke but ignore in last few mi we had 4 pt leads and senior players sloppy passes turned it over 3 straight times. not ref. We had 8 point lead on gt with less than 2 minutes. they made run, but at game end we missed ft to lead by four and allowed uncontested 3 for tie and loss. No refs. about sick of hearing about great defense coach, that is myth. we have wasted a lot of good talent on BB. why would most kids enter this gym with history. enough

Hey ret, what are your credentials to talk about coaching? I fully admit that at some at some point we have to break though the walls of history and win games we are not used to winning. Winning at Cameron is almost as hard as it was to win in Chapel Hill and beating Tony Bennett anywhere is right up there with it. The job of coaches during the season is to prepare the game plan and making sure the players execute the game plan. After the players put on their uniforms and sneakers, 95% of winning or losing is on their backs. Can the 5% make the difference, absolutely, but only if players are making shots and getting rebounds. The game is really easy, take care of the ball, play defense, rebound well and shoot well and every one of those things are on the players.

I certainly think wile Dook and Carolina are formidable opponents and notoriously difficult to play against home, and I do understand how much the players impact the game...I believe that we lack an identity or true aspiration of greatness.
No one ever thought we would beat 'Bama until Dabo got here.
I think Brad's time is over mostly because he failed to create a culture of belief and determination. He's much more talented at the "o golly I don't know what happened" routine than lighting a fire in these player's hearts (I'm saying this as an observer obviously), but I think we have the talent and good kids and they should be going further then we have and that's on the coach and culture, 100%.
He's the one paid to make them better afterall, and half the time it seems like he blames them.
