Sorry you feel that way…truly. I don't like seeing programs shut down. I don't like secret payments to athletes that truly ruin college football. We believe in transparency and the opportunity for fans - all fans - to support their favorite schools and teams. Change is always unsettling, but our goal is to engage more than just the season ticket holders or students to help keep college athletics going. The future depends on expanding that revenue base and supporting the programs we all love.

What's in this for you? You joined Tigernet today for obvious reasons. Are they altruistic reasons or do you stand to profit?

Our mantra is that Everyone Wins - schools, fans, athletes, and yes, UBooster. Fans stand to gain from supporting the Tigers, both for helping the program and the tax deductibility of your donations. For the record, I'm also a Tiger - MBA in 2012.

I don't want to fight this out on a message board, but hope my posts have clarified some of the misconceptions being expressed. I understand those concerns and want to ensure that our message is properly conveyed.

We're trying to secure a long and successful experience for college athletics. Clemson does well and has great fans. Many programs are struggling. I started with this idea because, like most fans, I don't think college athletics should become a minor league system for the NFL or other sports. It should be broad, comprehensive, and an option for many student-athletes to attend college who may otherwise have never gotten the chance.

Our team has done everything we can, working with a very talented legal team, to build this model and to remain compliant with NCAA rules. We hope those of you who have concerns will give it fair consideration and see the value it brings to the experience we all enjoy.

What do you guys at UBooster do for Clemson that I can't do myself? I can donate all the money I want without having to go through your site

Absolutely - you can. We bring you recruiting information and a sense of "competition" to see what other fans at other programs are doing to support their schools. Per NCAA rules, school sites cannot share this information until players sign a formal letter of intent or request a financial aid application. That's why there are lots of recruiting sites out there who can provide you with recruiting information. By stepping away from the schools, we bring you that basic recruiting information merged with the opportunity to support your school. And as I noted in a previous post, right now the contributions I make are 80% tax deductible, whereas with UBooster they should be closer to 85%. The advantage, therefore, is a 1-stop-shop to get this information, make your pledge, and to see what happens on signing day. Great question - thanks for asking.

So we are now bidding for athletes? You don't think this preys on the emotions of fans? So we are now clouding whats important when coaches are making their pitches. Coaches will still make their pleas about whats important like education, growth as a person, athletic experience but we know young impressionable people do exactly what you said in your statement, see which school "really" wants them $$$$$$$. This is very unethical even if legal. Won't go as far as immoral but certainly lacking any scruples. Please continue to explain. Keep putting it out there in the media until someone exposes this nonsense. Some smart person will rip this apart. Again, I'm encouraging everyone I know to reach out to the better business bureau to explain what the heck is going on here. For the record, this is a great idea to make money. All ideas that can profit off the emotions of people are brilliant even if criminal in nature.
