Did BC defense somehow take the TE away from us ?

Oct 9, 2022, 12:25 PM

Our TEs seemed to disappear in the passing game last night after a couple of weeks where they were used extensively.

Don’t know the answer, but only Davis had any pass targets (2) and made both catches. It’s a crime they didn’t get Briningstool involved more.

Briningstool was key on the Collins touchdown. DJ looked left that took the safety out the play and BC doubled briningstool on a fade to the outside. That left Collins wide open coming across the middle.

Yep.

The tightends were used all night.

Football can be a complicated game.

OK - saw your post after mine - thanks for the explanation as I am not breaking down the coverage on each play.

These people do not understand that Football is a complex game with many moving parts and intricacies and just because you may not have touched the ball does not mean you were left out of the Game Plan.
But if someone wants to ask questions or wonder , then look no further than the OL who missed a block on the sweep

Yes, I kept wondering the same after the first half. Our two most sure handed receivers are Bstool and Davis Allen. I don't recall a single drop by Bstool and maybe 2 drops in 3 years for Allen. Both have been effective in the back of end zone and in the middle of the field on some shallow crossing routes. Allen in particular is good at shielding the defenders and making the play. Was there something special they were doing to take away everything between the numbers for the TE's? I thought we had finally found something in the last couple games but not for this one.

I only remember Davis having one catch. Maybe it was the defensive scheme they were running.

I expect the TEs to be a big part of the game at FSU next week.

reason we didn't throw as much to the TE had more to do with the defense rather than Streeter and crew just abandoning it or forgetting about it.

On one play, I remember having double tight ends lined up on the right side. One in the line, one in back field. BC’s D had to pay attention to both of them whether they were a receiving target or not.

It's a factor when you sell your program to TE's

Oct 9, 2022, 2:10 PM

It's difficult to sell the 2022 Tigers have two NFL caliber TE's who are not worthy of catching any balls against one of the worst teams (BC) in I-A college ball. How is that explained to top TE recruits across the country?
