Did something happen to Will Taylor eg injury?

He isn’t even on the depth chart at slot. He seemed like he was pushing for serious playing time in ‘21 prior to injuring his knee. Then he was getting some action here and there early ‘22 but seemed to disappear as the season went on. Did he get hurt or has he just faded a bit as the season progressed?

He was really exciting to watch last year before he got hurt. Pulling for him to grow into a contributing role. Just wasn’t sure if I was missing something.

Makes sense. I could imagine the idea of being a dual sport athlete as intoxicating. Then you get hurt and question it. Wish him the best, whichever route he chooses.

He had surgery on meniscus in same knee. Wasn’t healing correctly

Sorry he is hurt. If he has a future in BB he needs to grab it. He's listed at 5"10 and 175. Unless you are Hunter Renfrow or run a 4.4 that's very undersized. As you will recall, he fielded punts for a while and lost that job. Good luck to him.

Yeah and he won't get to practice with the baseball team again this preseason. Sucks. He really needs to rehab and get right for baseball and stay there. He's way too good. It's doubtful tbh that he'll get many snaps next season in the slot.

Im gonna say it, dude is not good enough to play at the P5 level in football.

Can almost guarantee this is his last year on the football team

I hope so. Rangers still drafted him in 19th round even though they knew he committed to play football. He'd have gone much higher. Outstanding center fielder with a quick first step and can/could track a baseball. Great instincts on the pads. Heck, even with bum leg he stole a bunch... little as he played. Eagle eye with the bat. Not a power swing but good going opposite field.

I followed the kid for a bit in HS. I just hate to see him blow baseball trying to do something that's a risk.

He actually looks a step slower than we saw last year.
