The lack of any elite teams really gets us. I could see the ACC getting 4 teams to the Sweet 16 and none past

This creep is just trying to throw shade on any CBB accomplishment. He is a hater and definitely NOT a Clemson fan. A true fan would be happy for our basketball program right now.

While we remain the 7th ranked conference in D1 basketball the average net ranking of our teams has worsened. Moving us ever closer to a less than prestigious (and all time worst for the ACC) ranking of 8th overall conference.

Only two conferences improved. All the others got worse. The Mountain West is always a powerful group. Right?

It has been in decline for years. Few great teams in the last decade in Virginia, Duke and NC but that’s
about it.
Anyone old enough to remember the ACC was a dominant conference in basketball and an ACC tourney ticket was a tough get. I would skip school to to go watch the Thursday games.
Besides financially I have not seen any benefits competitive wise in the teams we took on in expanding.

For those of us most frustrated with Brownell, this is the reason. We grew up with the ACC being the basketball conference. Really significantly more dominant than the SEC has become at football, for perspective. Now it's a shell of it's former self and we still aren't even competitive in the tourney. It's like watching Bowden let Wake and BC win ACC titles. It's too much. But, the table is set. Please go win the ACC tourney. I promise to simply enjoy and not say a word about how bad the conference sucks.

Negotiated bad deals and did not get us good teams.
At least be dominant in one or the other.
Most probably don’t know but the ACC is regarded as the premier conference in college soccer. Problem being that does not pay the bills.

I think this helps explain why our ranking isn't higher. In the past, any 18-4 ACC team leading the conference would easily be in the Top 5. We are languishing in the 20s and I think the strength of the conference is clearly hurting us because the ACC is so down this year. I think the UVA ranking defies this because of its past history and conversely, it holds us back for the same reason.
