His good play. Makes me wonder Why he couldn’t get it going in Tigertown. Could it have been the surrounding players?

He has played no one ( and still threw 2 interceptions) I bet he would give an NFL quality performance against DeVry but against a real team on top of their games he will be the same lead footed staring down receivers
that he was here

He looks exactly like he did at the start of last season. He looked good for us at this point in the season last year too. I wish people would just stop with this nonsense. He hasn’t played enough for us to know much of anything yet in terms of whether or not he has improved at OSU. We haven’t seen anything out of him at OSU that we didn’t see here at Clemson. No reason to take a shot at our coaches. The guy processes the game slowly. The OSU coaches won’t change that. The best they can do for him is scheme his first read open and make sure it isn’t a downfield throw if the receiver isn’t WIDE open. Even then he might still miss the throw.

Prior the Syracuse game last year DJU had 17 TDs

and only 2 INT’s.

After that it fell apart. Part was that our WR were FCS quality, at best.

Part was that teams started to play him different: more oddball blitzing but no one pattern. They’d fall back in 8-man zone designed to crowd his field of vision. At other times they’d just hang back in deep fields and make him try to be patient more than normal. All designed to kept him from getting rhythm. He threw 2 picks against the Cuse zone, had a key fumble, and then just decided Clemson wasn’t the place for him. He quit.

Another key aspect was that the Coaches forced him to run the option, which he could not consistently do. It was the fumble in the red zone against the Cuse, taken all the way back, that shook him up like UGA’s pick six. This was the Coaches’ fault, and badly. They missed badly here and just kept doubling down.

Part was the OL just couldn’t consistently keep him clean. Our OL has been FCS quality ever since Dabo took over. The option game is designed to cover for poor OL. DJ didn’t want to make the option decision, and he was never actually a power runner that his size should have allowed. He just didn’t want it.

Part was the fans’ fault for demanding that he be Trevor redux. It was never going to happen. Fans are on the whole both stupid, at best, and self- destructive. Nothing changes.

In the end, DJU just wants to stand back and throw the ball downfield. He would be great playing for Al Davis and the old Raiders.

In the end, he just wants to be a pitcher in a football uniform. Indeed, he should be playing baseball.

I think the reason fans were so high on him was due to his 2 starts in 2020 when Trevor couldn’t play. He balled out in both of those games but it was like he got a case of the yips in 2021. Then the coaches got his head cleared in 2022 until the cuse game happened and then he was right back to being a head case. I do think your assessment was pretty accurate though. Anyways GO TIGERS!!!

DJU had receivers in 2020. It's been downhill since with the exception of today. It's almost that the DJU issue has revived the "find a way to lose" mentality--at least for me. Had we made the field goal toward the end or not had the fumble, my mindset would have been different from what it is now....it was just 2 plays and yet the whole feel of the season just took a nose dive. Look at Kade's stats-very impressive. Guess there something to be said about getting your "mojo" back

Once the pressures on things will go down hill. He also is in what his 4th year. It should click by now. The thing I am seeing this year is every team that has a pulse so far this season Texas, FSU, SC, the pac12 teams, Duke, Miami, etc the thing they all have in common is they have very senior 4th and 5th and 6th year seniors at QB. Travis is good at FSU but he’s been there forever and what has he won? Clemson, GA, Alabama, Tenn have all looked less impressive than normal and all have young or inexperienced Qb’s.

Yes, other than putting him under center, he looks almost the same.
To be QB on a running team should suit him fine.
Now that the ACC has left coast teams, the arrogance of the SE will have to be tempered. I watch plenty of west coast football - most years SDSU could beat half of the ACC or SEC teams. This board thinks they are high school but that’s not the case. Certainly better than Chas So of FL ATL any year, so there’s that.
It’s pretty low class to be so hateful to DJU at this point.

He started 2 games in 2020, 13 games in 2021, 13 games in 2022, and 3 games so far in 2023. That's 31 starts. All that experience should make him better. Not comparing, but Joe Burrow and Kenny Pickett were 5th year seniors before it all came together.

If DJ plays well this year, it's not a bad reflection on Clemson. Clemson gave him 28 starts and helped him. His dad should see that; his mom probably does.

DJ Streeter also almost ruined Trevor to, but he had too much talent around him and don’t deny that Trevor did not decline his sophomore to junior year because he did the talent that was too great and he also worked with gurus over the summer, Streeter messed up his mechanics and his confidence DJ came in. Here’s a five star in as a freshman. He played for a couple games like a five star we weren’t misled she didn’t get Coach right

DJ was not an accurate QB at Clemson. He often missed wide open targets high, low, left and right. That had zero to do with the scheme.

He was a strong runner, but not a fast nor elusive runner during his time at Clemson.

Basically at Clemson, he was an inaccurate passer with a very strong arm. So what, since he was not accurate. He was not an impressive runner and never will be.

Hopefully at Oregon State he will become accurate and work out the yips which is a mental thing. Hopefully he will learn to look off the primary receiver and work through his progressions unlike at Clemson where he locked in usually on the primary receiver.

I wish the guy well, but at Clemson DJ was given chance after chance to work out his issues and improve. He didn't and that's not on Clemson and any improvement at Oregon State will be more of a reflection of fixing what's between his ears.

sheet yourself. Anyone who sits on here expecting other people to deliver them something is simply waiting to parade their own agenda around - like you.

DJU's 1st INT was a high throw over the middle with a blitzing LB so far in his face that he had no follow through at all. He stepped back and away, throwing off the back foot, and the ball sailed on him. Pick. Even then the ball was on target and on time over the middle - just high. Had the O Lineman done his job, it would have been a completion, not a pick. DJU's problem: sometimes he stands in too long trying to find a receiver.

OSU was up by 2 TD's in the 4th Quarter when this happened, and still led by 8 after the other team took the turnover in for a score. DJU immediately led OSU back down the field for another TD to restore the lead. Even as both the picks happened in the 4th Quarter, OSU still ending up winning by 17. He was better on the front end building a lead than later in the game.

There's your GD "facts". Something with a little meat on it instead of the "give me the bad stuff so I can bash the kid".

Most of you mofo's just need to #### about DJU and let the kid go on about his life. He owes your sorry azzes absolutely nothing. And this from a white guy who half the blackjacks on this site want to say is racist.

14 of 30 with 2 INTs against a team they were favored to beat by 3 TDs, is not exactly a good game. Like us, their pre-season is over and the schedule ramps up dramatically. Sadly, for him, even though he is putting up respectable numbers, NOTHING looks easy. He looks like he is really having to concentrate overly hard to spin a pass toward a receiver and get it there, and the concrete feet are still there on some throws.

None of this is an attempt to "bash" DJ. But, after all this time, he really should be a much more polished QB than he appears to be.
