I was just curious (thinking about several of posts regarding Clemson reaching an "elite" level as well as some referring to USuck's dumpster fire program) about our actual yearly records, so I looked yearly back to 2002. It really is nuts, the difference Dabo has made. We haven't had a season with less than 10 wins since 2010, but prior to that (at least from the ESPN search that only went back to 2002) we had zero 10 win seasons 2002-2010. What a phenomenal era of Clemson football.

Before 2011 our last 10 win season was in 1990.

1990 was the last year of a 4 year 10 win streak. 1990 was also Ken Hatfield's 1st year.

Ken Hatfield inherited a boat load of talent...

and any coach worth his salt would have won at least one if not two National Championships with the talent he inherited from Coach Ford.
Those Clemson teams managed to win in spite of Hatfield.

Agreed. "10 wins" is not always a fair comparison to past teams, it's misleading. Those 9-1-1 seasons in the '80s were better than the 10-4 season a couple years ago. Yeah, ten wins... but 4 losses, too.

And only a winning season due to having Danny Fords leftovers....

Really is crazy to think how far this program has come in 20-30 years. From maybe a top 25 team to a top 5-10 team every year. That is nuts.

We also have more games and a very weak conference.

Let's keep a little bit of realism in the picture.

Got to disagree with you on the " weak conference " thing . There are 6 ACC teams in the top 25 . That isn't weak at all , especially halfway through the regular season .

Our conference schedule typically has 1 difficult opponent.

Most of the time it is FSU. This year it was Louisville.
I'm glad we win the games we are supposed to, believe me. I'm just saying let's slow down on the whole "elite era" thing until we've done something like win the ACC championship and make the playoffs for 4 straight years or something elite like that.

I think that having 5 teams in the top 25 halfway through the regular season says without a doubt the ACC is a pretty good conference right now , and most of the pollsters seem to believe that it is as well .

Saying ACC is a weak conference today is just plain silly

The comment is so out of date and out of touch.
For example, SCar was a national power the last time the ACC could be considered "weak" ...

This is not the acc that had fsu and the 10 dwarfs. We have some very good teams, a few very bad, and some solid teams. Same could be said for all conferences including the much vaunted sec.

For history that is complete as in since a team has been playing football use college football data warehouse It is awesome!
