Does anyone else find it interesting that are taking Cade to media days over Shipley?

Shipley seems like the devs to offensive leader and had been the most vocal in the media. I would have thought he would have been chosen as a representative.
I understand the QB is often the leader of the offense and maybe they are pushing Cade to carry that mantle but I’m just a little surprised.

I think the conference gets to choose one player from each team and that may be what happened here.

There can only be one leader on offense...

Usually it's the QB. Cade has to get comfortable with being that vocal leader, so whoever set this up chose the right person.

He had the flak from not taking Trevor in 2019. So wonder if that's part of it. Part of it might be getting Cade used to dealing with the media now that's he's the starter.

All this talk about leaders in the locker room, leaders in position meetings, I’d prefer a senior that is a leader on the field. Some guys just don’t like to be the center of attention, are quiet but can get the job done when the whistle blows. My memory is horrible but the OT from just a couple of years ago comes to mind.

I’m sure Ship doesn’t mind because he wants his QB to be the leader on the O, not him, and he is a team player.
I wonder if there was a conference rule change where the conference gets to choose the player who they want from each team to be there instead of the coach? I’m sure the coach gets input, but it does seem odd if it was all up to Dabo because he used to stick with seniors. But then again, Trevor was there awhile ago, so maybe Dabo has relaxed on the whole senior requirement thing over time.
It is in the best interest of the conference to have the most visible, talked about playmakers there though if you want to maximize media coverage.

I don’t really care who they chose either when it all comes down to it I just found it interesting.

When the media days only allowed teams to bring 2 players Dabo was pretty adamant about only bringing seniors. It was an honor for players that stayed and became leaders in the locker room.
In 2022 the media days changed to allow 3 players to come with a heavy implication that the third be the starting quarterback after Trevor was noticeably absent in 2019.
Only 3 teams didn’t bring a QB to media days this year (GT, VT, and L’ville). Conveniently these are the only 3 teams that haven’t announced a starter yet.

That makes sense that the ACC would want to ensure the biggest stars are there especially when it’s a talent like Trevor that elevates the hype surrounding it to another level.

A guess. Did you notice how much energy Cade brings to the offense as soon as he steps on the field when he first got the nod and each instance since ? I did. I think it's palpable. We have an entirely new OC that's being introduced on what is obviously an exciting offense. No disrespect to Shipley but how better to convey the excitement to play in this eagerly awaited return to the exciting brand of football that we had become accustomed to. That is returning and Cade's excitement and energy will be infectious for our fans.

Maybe because Shipley has not proven he can catch it out of the backfield. I like the guy and think he is a great player but I think Mafah is the better player. Just my opinion and it looks as if the coaches would disagree with my opinion which Is great seeing they know a lot more than I do about football.

I believe Shipley and Mafah are top notch Rb's but I will concede to the coaches on which one is the most productive.

I’m disappointed that the Clemson coaches don’t know what they are doing! We will never be a front page football team.
