If you write their name on the memo line on the check, it doesn't qualify as charitable giving for tax purposes.

The check is also a permanent record that the NCAA can trace. Writing the name on the envelope only is the way to go.

Of course my favorite way to give directly to the players is the $100 handshake on the field after the games. It's much more personal.

Please don't share this outside of T-net. We don't want the coots to catch on to us.
