To join its conference? I read that Washington has it but Oregon is unknown.

B1G commissioner has stated "not a requirement." Mich State joined B1G and achieved AAU Cert 8 yrs later.

Nebraska gained AAU status before entering the BIG but subsequently lost it. Both Oregon and Wash are AAU. Clemson has launched the Clemson Elevate program with the objective being AAU certification.

Have no idea if these means anything regarding conference affiliation/moves but the timing is certainly interesting.

The only member of the B1G that is not currently AAU...

is Nebraska and they were when they were accepted.

FSU and Clemson[Elevate] have both stated they hope to gain certification within a number of years.

It's a good Association, if only for the Academic/Research side.

Both are on the path to AAU… they let Nebraska in

Without it. Precedent set.

No, Nebraska was an AAU member when they were accepted...

Aug 4, 2023, 2:10 PM

if conversations for them to reestablish certification have taken place, I don't know that's public fodder?
