Michigan, Ohio State, Mich State and Penn State all in the SAME division? Geez... they will dominate the Big Whatever even more than the SEC West dominates their conference.

thats an awesome looking schedule . I'd love for Clemson to play four nationally recognized teams a year. especially four in our division.

our division because we don't have to play us. Its a great schedule if you are a competitive team but for Maryland its killer. those other guys only have 3 decent teams to beat. Maryland has 4 great teams (relatively speaking) to beat and Rutgers is better than them. if they beat Indiana it will be what I expect and if they beat Rutgers they should call that a success. Getting Wisconsin as a cross division game is killer. 2 and 6 the first year in the big ten is not going to help their financial situation. Ticket sales are still the biggest part of the athletic budget and they are going to plummet after the first year or 2.

Sooner, rather than later, I'm afraid Maryland will find

itself in a similar predicament along with WVU: membership in a conference that just isn't a good fit. The pity is that the ACC played some role in both schools' decisions....WVU made their move out of desparation due to the collapse of the Big East and failure of an invitation from the ACC; MD moved because the ACC leadership failed to grasp the depth of their problems and step in to try to assist them through their rough times. The latter is what organizations with strong, attentive leadership do for their members. As for WVU, their decision was made only after the effete snobbery within the ACC won out over common sense and common decency.

Uh - Maryland Administrators are laughing at us making fun of their decision to join Big10(?). Looking at their schedule, they play in 3 of the largest venues in the entire country. They will be raking in the $$$$ and building their program. Ah hell - they could have been playing dook and weakforest and barely paying for gas to get to the games. What were they thinking? 5-10 years from now, merryland will be fine. They did NOT make a bad decision. We would have to join the SEC to make as good of a decision as they made.

Well, the money may be better, but they will still be on

the outside looking in as a fan base and contenders.
They will not draw enough attendance from the far distant B1G members to expand their football stadium. Travel to the midwest opponents venues will be even less the the closer ACC foes they seldom visited. They will reap some recruiting benefit from playing Penn State again. However,, other than that, if I'm a Maryland "FAN" the loss on basketball with UNC, Duke, UVA etc.... will be a bitter pill for the current generation of fans. Football will fair no better, likely worse in their new conference.
The benefit the money will bring to Maryland will be on the non revenue sports, not football and basketball.
