Great game today, Tigers!
I’m sure this was well documented when it happened, but what’s the story on Brewer and why he transferred? Was it just Monte getting fired? He’s a very good player.

He wasn’t a very good hitter while at Clemson (ie chased plenty of bad pitches). It does appear he’s improved at hitting, so someone other than Lee most have undone some of the damage.

The fact that Lee coached at Clemson was not that important and the baseball program in Columbia was in flux when he signed out of high school.

His family lives around here. They are Gamecocks all the way.

I spoke with his dad at one game and I understood that they or at least Brewer was always a Clemson fan. Never mentioned the family being SC fans. Maybe he did not want to bring that up.

The whole deal with him leaving had everything to do with Lee.

He is NOT a very good player. He’s playing great right now but he will be back to his normal self soon

He was a Monte commit but Brewer, like most of the other players, was done with him. That’s why he was fired. Once word got out Monte was leaving, the coots were in the ears of as many Clemson players as they thought they could talk into transferring. Brewer and Williams grew up coot fans in coot areas, so they were easy flips.

We were in the student section giving it to him the whole game. Those in the student body that care about baseball cannot stand the guy.
