We went to Clemson for the last one, it was a great day.
I recommend going to a college campus wherever you go. They’ll have solar telescopes etc set up and experts around. At least they did at Clemson.

It gets almost about dusk dark for a little while. Same as it does about twice a day except it's three times that day.

the spectacle leading up to it is more exciting than the event itself.
If I had never seen one, maybe I'd be interested. I've seen 2 in my life because they both passed directly over my head. Honestly, I wouldn't drive more than about 30 miles to see another one.

I've got a package deal to Sinaloa to be able to catch the eclipse when it first crosses the North American continent and obtain some cheap pharmaceuticals and firearms.

Experiencing it in the Blue Ridge Mountains was pretty cool to hear the wildlife act up though, so we might go north.
