I dont understand why the coots are ranked and we arent

Unless it is based only on w/l record. I just looked at their schedule and they have played a lot of patsies. Only one or 2 signature wins. They are ranked 20 and we only received 3 votes in the ap poll.
Any insight would be appreciated.

rhetoric from football to basketball, while simultaneously downgrading the ACC as the worst, just as they do in football. Pollsters are either listening, or being paid off to follow suit.

If we would have won those 3 games we shoulf have won, possibly even a 4th, it would have been interesting to see where we would be ranked. Maybe 7th? Anyway, I like where we are and being under the radar. The team is getting going.

Unless we are top ten the rest really doesn't matter. I couldn't care less where the coots are ranked (other than the Quad crap).

most SEC teams will drop like flies as soon as tournament play starts.
And the SEC braintrust will scream with high pitched unison voices that the regular season grind wore them out so that they had nothing left to face teams who had not been challenged all year.
I so wish we could say ######## on this site.

Don’t worry they won’t be at the end. Rankings do not mean that much in basketball seeing they employ a true tourney.
It definitely is a respect deal imo and the ACC is getting very little love. Will find out next month how right or wrong the pollsters have been but right now I’m enjoying the current ride the team is on. Call me shocked. I had always stated I had seen this movie before but these guys have battled back and it has been fun to watch. Clemson would be 2-3 better if they did not have to play against 8 instead of 5 but it has been that way for years.

Of course wins and losses matter, Clemson lost several games in the literal last second of the game.

Well, we lost to Georgia Tech at home after having a 9-point lead with 1:43 left to play.
And, we lost to Virginia Tech at home, blown out by 15.
And we lost to NC State at home despite a 12-point lead midway through the 2nd half, and 4-point lead with 1:00 to play.
The NC State game was the third close loss where the team seemed to have no clue as to what to do in the closing seconds (Duke, UVa, NC State).
Add in the 7 point lead given up early in the 2nd half at Miami, to get run out by 13.
Coots are 22-5, have beaten 2 top 10 teams, had a 7-game win streak in SEC play, and are tied for 3rd in their conference just 1 game out of first place in the SEC. The SEC is, of course, being pumped up by ESPN as the new premier basketball power, and voters eat the ESPN slop.

USC is in a better conference than the ACC. Duke just lost to an average/below average WF team this past weekend. Syracuse is a joke. Clemson beat them twice. Notre Dame is worthless and Clemson has them to play soon. Miami and FSU are weak. Clemson has beaten teams that simply don't measure up. So what, you beat GT. who is in the world is Georgia Tech? Sorry, but I've said it before: The ACC in basketball this year is not a strong conference, and this is why Clemson shouldn't be ranked. As soon as they play a good team in the NCAAs, they will lose. USC is 22-5, with a very good conference record. I am NOT a Gamecock fan, but the proof of the pudding is in the eating. BB is fooling a lot of folks at Clemson with this team, and it's going to catch up with him, starting with the ACC tournament. Heck, Brad cant' out coach the NC State's HC. Get your blinders off- Clemson is going to be tricked into keeping this guy
for another decade of this. Average-smaverage hoops.

It's purely based on W/L record. Most voters are either too lazy or too old school to dig further.
Clemson: 23 NET / 24 KenPom / 18 Massey Comp.
SC: 48 NET / 48 KenPom / 37 Massey Comp.
We are consistently ~20 spots higher, but we've lost 3 more games playing a more difficult schedule and voters are lazy.
