Yeti used to partner with American firearms companies. They discontinued doing so in 2019 in the name of politics “publicly” prior to contacting their “partners” ergo I do not procure their products any longer nor support their over priced brand. Have I explained to your satisfaction?

The false outrage from the bankrupt NRA was because they discontinued a member discount at the same time they discontinued all similar discounts. Fox did help amplify the false “Yeti is anti-gun” propaganda that apparently still has you fooled.

Try to find a source for your contentions and you might learn something. The NRA was a mess at the time of that false story. The bankruptcy is largely the result of corruption, not embedded Russian spies like Butina.

Can you explain a regulation which would actually keep guns out of the hands of crazies without limiting the rights of lawful gun owners? Seems you are seeking the impossible but we are listening if you have a real proposal and not a leftist proposal which will achieve nothing except trample the rights of law abiding citizens

Universal background checks.
Jun 20, 2021, 7:54 PM
|
|
Universal background checks “keeping the guns out of the hands of the crazies” are supported by a margin over 90% in polling and by 69% of NRA members. It makes no sense that you are subject to a national background check when buying a firearm through a licensed dealer but would then be able to sell it online or at a gun show to someone who is not subject to the same back ground check process. To say that universal background checks infringe on your rights is akin to saying not allowing 10 year olds to drive infringes on their rights.
I won’t argue this point with you as the data and facts show there really isn’t an argument to be had other than your emotions or opinion on the subject. My emotions and opinion won’t change.

The gun show argument is false. Gun transactions at the actual gun show are subject to background checks. You are referring to private sales which can happen anywhere. Let me know when you figure out how to get gang bangers and other outlaws to run checks before conducting transactions. Why we’re at it we could just make murder illegal, and drugs. I’m not running checks on my kids every time I buy them a rifle or shotgun.

In many (not all) states, you can sell a gun at a gun show without a background check as long as you aren’t an FFL holder. A lot of guns change hands that way. A LOT. It’s a sensible reform to require background checks for private sales in all states - it’s a minor inconvenience for the buyer and seller to meet at a gun dealer. Gander mountain charges $30 for it instead of the regular $5 for when they are the seller. So the gun nuts whine that it won’t stop each and every crime, but even the dumbest one has to admit that it will stop some. But their argument that it takes $25 extra dollars that they can’t spend on crack is sorta valid.

In states with background checks at gun shows for private sales, they make it pretty convenient. One or more of the larger dealers usually sets up a booth just for background checks at the big shows. At the smaller shows most of the dealers will do it between customers.

I said the same thing. Private sellers/buyers can conduct business at a gun show. Also on a boat, in a car, dark alley. The whole “gun show” argument is a red herring. Willing to wager most (by a large percentage) weapons used in crime were not purchased at a gun show.

look it up. The gun show loophole argument is just a dumbing down of the argument for background checks on private sales. It's not a red herring. Most people old enough to buy a gun understand that. The majority of americans live in states that already require it.

provides a lot of examples. Either mistakes made by officials, stolen weapons, or weapons obtained after passing checks. Couldn’t find any notable mass shooting examples in it that were “gun show” private transaction related. The West Texas massacre was a private sale. There’s one. Of course “mass shootings” are 4 or more including the shooter. Propaganda? So I’m sure there have been a couple. I do agree the gun show argument is a dumbing down, which also distracts from the basic arguments, therefore a red herring.
https://apnews.com/article/6fa458941f684468a24a992285777d05US mass shooters exploited gaps, errors in background checks Most mass shooters in the U.S. acquired the weapons they used legally because there was nothing in their backgrounds to disqualify them, according to James Alan Fox, a criminologist with Northeastern University who has studied mass shootings for decades.

Wow, national background check. Great idea! Another law which will have zero impact on the crime rate but unduly burden law abiding citizens. BTW, how many shooters over the last five years purchased their gun from an individual w/o a background check?

You can get a Coleman or Igloo cooler that will keep things cold for 5 days. Why is it that I would want to spend $250 more for a Yeti that does the same thing ? Have not had a Yeti owner yet that could answer that one.

After 30-ish years on the lake I have had many igloo marine coolers for the boat. Each has lasted around 3-4 years before cracking/deteriorating.
Another boating friend said to just bite the bullet and spend the money on a yeti…so I finally did. I’ve had the yeti for 6 years now and it still looks brand new. I don’t regret the cost at all. I would have paid for at least 2 igloos in the same time period, based on past performance.
My $0.02.
