Bogus on Baylor.
Their guys were recruited to a scheme and they do it very well, but Baylor basically runs a variation of the Mike Leach offense that features a bunch of small, fast guys zipping around the field. What makes Baylor's guys so effective is not really talent so much as tempo, pace-of-play, and speed of execution. They don't even have a playbook...exactly like Leach, Briles just calls up plays based on what he's seeing on the field and their offense is so bloody simple his guys have repped each play about a gazillion times.
It's a gimmick offense, albeit a highly effective one, and if Briles catches a schematic hole in your D or a mismatch somewhere he's going to beat you over the head with it until you're dead. The problem is, as with a lot of such high-flying gimmick offenses, if it runs into a well-drilled team that has the ponies across the board to match up and has done its homework, it's going to look like a swallow flying into a glass door...thump, and stop. UCF gave them some problems a couple years ago in the Fiesta bowl, and George O'Leary is an implacable old-time throwback coach with a grizzled old defensive staff...and Old School punched Briles' zippy scheme in the mouth that day. The Big 12 doesn't do that much...but then, Big 12 defenses by and large are even worse than Pac-12 defenses, which is saying something.
All of which is to say, their receivers ain't that talented. Just quick, and very polished. But most of them aren't going to be NFL wideouts.
A&M, might - might! - could give Clemson a run for our money. They've recruited some major studs the last few years, and these look like NFL prototypes. Nobody will mistake Kyle Allen for Deshaun Watson, though.
FSU has a fleet of really nice-looking high-end-4 and 5-star wide receivers as well, they're just very young.
Other than that, nobody's really all that close, IMHO.

That's an interesting take

considering KD Cannon and Blake Lynch were both personally offered by Chad Morris and thought to be great fits for our system. Baylor also only has 2 receivers under 6 feet tall (both are 5'11) and 3 guys who are 6'4 or taller so I wouldn't call them zippy or small.
I'd also say their offense is pretty vastly different from Leach's. Baylor runs on around 60% of its plays (Clemson is around 54% and Leach's WSU Cougars run about 38% of the time)
Baylor also has 6 WRs currently on NFL Rosters, and most of them weren't as highly recruited as the guys Baylor currently has.

??HOT TAKE?? Seriously though, Baylor's done extremely well when it comes to putting guys in the NFL. They haven't necessarily had a ton of NFL success, but that's not usually an indicator of the best collegiate receivers.

That's why I find early season or preseason rankings to be pretty useless.
Let's rank the WRs in November and December. THAT is meaningful.

two legitimate 1000-yard receivers plus Charone Peake....

nah, I ain't buying that there are two other schools with receivers as accomplished and still with more upside than these guys at Clemson.
that'd be like finding, not one, but 2 White Rhinos in a fish bowl.

I'm not too familiar with Baylor or TAM but if their WRS are better than the list Clemson has. I don't want to play either one of those teams. I have a feeling at the end of this season the Tiger WRS will be clearly #1.

They both have great WR units.
It's hard to say which will be better this year until the season plays out, but Clemson is definitely in the top tier.

Think about the Speed next season with Ray Ray, Scott and Feaster on the field at the same time. DW and all his studs are going to rewrite the record books the next 2 seasons.
